What we were…
Sean found love once, with his college roommate, Trevor, and Trevor’s best friend, Charlotte.
The missing piece, Sean made it possible for Trevor and Charlotte to find love too.
But then Sean left and took the love with him.
What we are…
Now an FBI agent, Sean is back in town, ten years later, to investigate a murder.
A case that pits him against his ex-lovers—Charlotte, a local detective, and Trevor, a literature professor sucked into the Shakespearean mystery.
Everyone guards their hearts, but before long, desire sparks anew the feelings that burned hot a decade ago. That still burn true.
What we may be…
Love is within their grasp again, but as the killer escalates, it’s more than just their hearts and futures on the line.
Sean, Charlotte, and Trevor will need to work together to solve the case.
If they can’t, lives will be lost and pieces of their love gone for good.
REVIEW:
Wow, didn’t see this one coming and glad I came for the ride!
Sean is back in his old college stomping grounds that include his former fiancés Charlie and Trevor. The way he left and what forced him to leave without a goodbye has weighed on him heavily for the past decade. His stop-in for Charlie’s dad and brother’s funerals is not the time to drop all his history bombs. But, when he is drawn back for his job with the FBI and a favor for his fellow agent-friend, things get heated real fast. Trevor and Charlie are best friends but they never worked together without Sean. But can any of their hearts and souls survive if this doesn’t work out again?
I’m going to put this disclaimer out here first and foremost for my followers: This is a F/M/M. As a friend once put it…there are lots of “pink parts” in this book and it might not be for you. However, this is a fabulously written and intriguing story that had so many twists and turns that I couldn’t bear to set it down. And if you can get past the fact that there is a strong female leading this story and throuple then you are most definitely in for a treat with this one.
I fell in love with all of the three main characters, Sean, Charlotte (Charlie) and Trevor. They just completed each other. I must say, when we finally got the entire truth of why Sean departed without a word I was equally saddened by what they all had endured during their decade long separation and why it went down that way. It was truly selfish on one person’s (I won’t say who) part. But I think that separation might make them appreciate what they had lost and needed and should strengthen them for the long haul.
I can’t say much about the plot because there are so many delicious twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole ride and I don’t want to spoil a moment of it. But I will tell you that you won’t see it coming when you do get it.
I believe this will be the prequel to Marsh’s series and can’t wait for his story. He deserves an HEA like all his friends have. And I hope we get to see at least a glimpse of all the characters we fell for here. I encourage you to try this wonderful story. I’m so glad I took the chance on it. It was so worth it!
