Bailey Cairn is a man without a protector…
And for the entirety of his very human life, he hasn’t needed one. But when his friend is attacked at a bar, sweet, caretaker Bailey is drawn into a world he hadn’t known existed. A world full of secrets, and magic. A world full of danger… and gorgeous, protective Logan.
But if Bailey and Logan want to break the chains of the past, they’ll have to learn to trust each other and themselves, and start to believe in things that are bigger than they are…
That magic exists.
That packs are about more than blood ties.
That sometimes true love is a matter of fate.
And that heroes aren’t made…they’re Chosen.
REVIEW:
I didn’t think things could get much better than the other two series but holy crap. It just gets better and better with every character the author adds. If you haven’t read The Chosen One series and Hellhound Champions series, I would STRONGLY recommend you read those before this one or there are going to be a few things you will be completely lost on. Basically the whole set up for the story and who goes with who and why, etc.
I’ve loved all these characters since I read book one and this has just made the series that much better. We get to see another side to the paranormal community that are intertwined with the Hellhounds and funny enough, those from the Chosen One as well. And boy was I happy to see all of them.
I knew when Logan had laid eyes on Bailey, that it was on. I knew for both of them, it would be an instant thing that would grow. And there would be twists and turns. But I didn’t expect all the ones that happened. I hate what everyone had to go through. Hate who the bad guy was and how the person betrayed them on a deep level. But what I love about the story, is as hard as Logan fought not to be the Alpha and claim his back, everyone still had his back. Heck, Bailey even had his back and he didn’t have a full clue as to what was going on. And knowing Logan’s backstory just made it that more…special? Trying to think of the right word. It just goes to the adage that family…or pack…isn’t always what we’re born into, but what we make of it.
I love the other guys in Logan’s pack as well. I laughed so hard at the antics of these guys. I know Aleron is going to continue to be a handful, albeit a blast to read. I’m waiting for the day Bailey makes Dasan crack. (You’ll see when you read it.) And I REALLY want to know who the oracle turns out to be. I think I may know……if I think back to the other series’. But I can’t say 100% yet. Either way, it was such a joy to jump back into this world again. These guys never stop making me want to be a part of the journey and I’m so glad the author has continued to write them.
I strongly recommend this. But read the others first if you haven’t!
