REVIEW:
I have to go back and finish reading The Royal Paynes, and I’m excited to do so. I was excited for these series to begin with but you know how life sometimes gets in the way. Well, I’ve gotten a chance to get back in these series and I couldn’t be more excited. And the first full novel, (you need to read Oblivion, which I think is Bookfunnel or Prolific), starts with a bang.
I love paranormal stories so, so much and this series has just been a dream because the author takes what is a ‘normal’ paranormal thing and expands on it so much. And I LOVE that. Paranormal can be what you make it and in any of Kiki Burrelli’s books, it’s been an adventure. Each and every journey brings something new and exciting and you know it’s pretty much going to end with an HEA, but it’s the little twists and turns that make it a whole lot more interesting.
And this had some doozies. But it had some trying times as well. I felt so much for Pani having to go through what he did throughout his lifespan. And for Dominion to only get a small glimpse of it and get how much Pani had to go through broke my heart. I also have to admit, Gavrel pulled it better together at the end but I still want to smack him silly. But I love the bonds in these guys too. It’s not just one pack here and one pack there. They’ve become a family. And because Pani and Dominion feel they need to help their new roommates, more family and ties are being made. Doesn’t mean life is going to be easier, but considering who is coming along for these rides…? It’s about to get a WHOLE lot more interesting.
There’s just so much about this book I love. The action, the connections, the angst, the bonds and family. I can’t go into too much more of a detail because if I do, I will give too much away. But if you’ve read the other series, you don’t want to miss out on this new one either.
