From Ella Frank’s Prime Time series and Brooke Blaine’s South Haven series comes an explosive spin-off of both worlds.
Sebastian “Bash” Vogel, the magnetic, cross-dressing CEO of AnaVoge, has long been a lone island when it comes to his personal life. Self-assured and playful, he’s never left wanting for suitors—but Bash isn’t looking for something permanent. He’s more than fulfilled with his company and his closest friends, and no one is going to shake up the status quo.
That is, until he’s thrown over the shoulder of one of Chicago’s finest and hauled out of a burning building.
Kieran Bailey, a sexy, hardworking lieutenant at Station 73, has been reaping the rewards of being crowned the city’s hottest fireman, which his crew never lets him forget. So many ladies, so little time. So when he rescues the latest damsel in distress, no one is more shocked than him to realize he’s played prince charming to another…prince.
But Bash isn’t like anyone Kieran has ever met, and soon his world is turned upside down as he becomes more intrigued by the enigmatic man that he can’t stay away from.
They’re from two different worlds. This could never work. But what if…they dared to try?
Dare You is book one of the Dare to Try trilogy, which must be read in order. Prior reading is not required, but is always a fantastic idea for maximum enjoyment.
REVIEW:
Always such a joy to see a new release from this duo of authors.
In this case the anticipation was very high as it was combining characters from both authors solo series, which i particulairly loved on their own.
And well let’s be honest, who can resist Bash? I cannot that is for sure.
So to get his story is a wonderful treat and combined with hot firefighter Kieran, brother of Bailey and Sean , ooh boy let the fireworks begin.
The built up is excellent you feel the slow burn friendship between Bash and Kieran from the moment they meet up till the very end of the book. I am not going to spoil anything which is somethimes hard but I prefer to keep it simple and casual.
I am worrying about what will have to happen for them to get their HEA which of,course is what you hope for as a reader! It is what we will be getting at the end of book 3.
I absolutely love the built up in (sexual) tension with Kieran being openly straight and Bash being his all flamboyant out and proud gay. It is like I mentioned, slow progressing. They just click as people, enjoying each others company, spending time together.
When spending time turns into something more, turns into confused emotions and emotional situations, that is when things gets difficult.
So much there is to consider especially for Kieran and especially in his head. How he visions his life and what is expected from him.
This first book ends with some drama that you kind of feel coming and it sure left me, like I expected from reading other trilogies by these authors, hanging and wanting for more.
The writing and storytelling is as I have come to know, excellent as always. The story and it’s characters grabs you from the get go.
What I do hope is that we will get to see some more from Kieran, his brothers and also Bash’s “family of friends”.
So now the wait will start for book 2 and finally for book 3 to get the complete story.
That is the only thing I do regret, the fact that the book is split up in 3 books where I wish I could continue reading this story in one go.
