What is more dangerous than a man in love? A man in love who feels betrayed.
Blurb
Marc and Alex have been best friends since childhood. When Marc was fourteen, tragedy struck, and he found himself suddenly orphaned. Having no living relatives, Marc moved in with Alex and his family, who happily opened their hearts and their home to him.
Five years have passed since the tragedy, and Marc’s love and devotion for his best friend has only intensified… some would say, to an almost obsessive level…
Alex’s life is suddenly turned upside down when he is forced to make an impossible decision. Alex quickly learns that Marc’s love for him goes much deeper than just friendship. Alex begins to wonder, just how far is Marc willing to go in the name of love? And more terrifyingly, how dangerous is a man in love, who feels… betrayed.
Fractured Love is a dark story of unrequited love, torment, and murder.
He had spent the last few hours thinking about the events that had transpired over the last 24-hours. Alex had come to the realization that he was the cause of all this misery. He felt broken and defeated. He deserved this punishment, and he was most likely going to die down here. Being trapped alone with one’s thoughts can be a dangerous thing. Alex sat in the darkness and watched as sunlight gradually seeped through the small cracks in the foundation. The dim light threatened to reveal the rooms many hidden secrets. He watched as a mouse scurried along the far side of the cabin and disappeared into a small crack in the wall.
Alex heard the trap door lift, as a steady stream of light filled the room. Fresh air poured in through the open door and filled Alex’s lungs. He took a deep breath and enjoyed the fresh air.
He sat there, waiting for Marc to come down and let him out. Instead, Alex watched as a brown paper bag was dropped onto the floor in front on him. Alex slid over and reached for it.
“Thought you might be hungry,” Marc said from the floor above. “We can talk more later tonight.” Marc did not wait for a response before he closed the trap door and the light disappeared.
Alex slowly opened the paper bag and peered inside. Inside was a sandwich, an apple and two bottles of water. Alex pulled out one of the bottles and began to drink. He had never felt so thirsty in his entire life. He felt like he had entered Heaven as the water quenched his thirst.
Next, he pulled out the sandwich and began to eat in silence. He needed to think or he would die down here.
