I’ve never had a Daddy. Can he teach me how to be the perfect boy?
I have three problems.
No job
No direction
No clue what I’m doing next.
Following my best friend to LA is the only thing that makes sense. I’ll start a new life, figure out a career, and learn how to be an adult. Meeting Matteo is intimidating but exciting. I know he wants a boy. I also know I’m far from what he’s looking for. How can I go to him when I don’t even know how to balance a bank account? I’m determined to stand on my own two feet before letting a Daddy take over my life.
As usual, life has other plans for me, and I find myself needing the one thing I tried to avoid. I can’t imagine what the gorgeous, older man could want with me, but I’m done fighting. I have a lot to learn about life and love, but exploring Daddy is turning out to be one of my better decisions. If he thinks I can be the perfect boy for him, maybe I can.
Exploring Daddy is a delicious Daddy/boy romance with a pining Daddy ready for a special boy, a stubborn young man fighting his own wishes, exploring new ground, and learning that sometimes asking for help is the bravest thing you can do. It is book 2 in the Love in LA series featuring doting Daddies and sweet boys finding love in Los Angeles.
REVIEW:
Mia Monroe continues her Love in LA series with Exploring Daddy which centers on the best friends of the two leads from Book 1, Legendary Daddy. Matteo, BFF of porn superstar Legend, and Finn, BFF of Legend’s boyfriend Bentley, initially meet in Legendary Daddy. They are instantly attracted to each other and Matteo instinctively knows this is the boy for him. Finn senses it as well but doesn’t feel he’s ready. So when Exploring Daddy begins, this push/pull dynamic is already in play.
Matteo desperately wants to find his own boy, especially now that he sees how happy Legend and Bentley are in their Daddy/boy relationship. He’s recently gotten out of a bad relationship where they tried to force the Daddy/boy dynamic and it just ended up hurting both of them.
Finn has been on his own for some time, with only his father to guide him. But his Dad just recently died and Finn is absolutely lost. He knows he wants Matteo and the Daddy/boy relationship they could have together. But he believes he has to come to Matteo as an equal. So he flails about trying to find his way on his own, refusing to ask for the help and support Matteo so desperately wants to provide.
Exploring Daddy continues the Daddy/boy theme of this series (but does not include age play or ABDL). It presents a different take on it, though, which stands in stark contrast to the vibe of Book 1. In Legendary Daddy, Legend and Bentley knew immediately they belonged together and they fell into the Daddy/boy dynamic right away. For Matteo and Finn, the journey is different. Finn needs to find his way and Matteo exerts the restraint to allow Finn the space to do so. When Finn finally comes around, the pure joy experienced by them both is warm, fuzzy, heartwarming feelings all the way.
The highlight of the book, though, is the bromance between Matteo and Legend, and the absolute adoration and unwavering support between long-time BFFs Bentley and Finn. When the four of them are together, it’s like the ultimate, indulgent double-date. As we’ve come to expect from Ms. Monroe, this group, and the other side characters, display a diverse cast with varied backgrounds, sexualities, and kinks who are all treated equally without judgment in a very sanguine way.
Overall, Exploring Daddy provides a sweet, sexy, low angst read. If you enjoy this genre, you will definitely enjoy this story. We get a preview of Ramos’ story which is coming next in Becoming Daddy, and I’m excited to see how Ramos gets his well-deserved HEA.
