True Mate is the first book in the Prosper Woods Chronicles but don’t miss True Knight, the incredible prequel to the series!
When I moved to Prosper Woods, California a couple of weeks ago, I’d had big plans for a quiet life. Let’s just say, things haven’t exactly turned out the way I expected they would. For one thing, as new sheriff, I hadn’t planned on investigating a murder the day after my arrival. For another thing, no one told me supernatural creatures existed. I didn’t believe it at first, but when Vincent Lasco suddenly smiled at me with a mouth full of fangs, things got interesting.
Quiet small town life indeed!
The moment I decided to take Sheriff Romeo Harmon home for a roll in the sheets, I knew hiding my true nature was a huge mistake. Then again, things never turn out the way I expect. The simple life of anonymity I’d hoped to have in Prosper Woods has blown up in my face in the most poetic and spectacular way. Not only that, the guy isn’t even aware that he has secrets of his own. How a guy could have lived all his life not knowing what he was, seems nearly impossible but in his case, I know it’s true.
Supernaturals are everywhere!
The town of Prosper Woods has a couple of new residents who at first glance, seem very unsuited for small town life. Before long though, I realized they were right for the town… probably the only right thing about this weird place. Surprisingly, they fit right in.
Things are about to get interesting!
REVIEW:
Oh my goodness gracious…I never knew there could be so many different kinds of shifters! And vampires, witches, mediums and, oh yeah, unicorns too! What a town!!!
When both Rome and Vincent separately decided to move to the quaint town of Prosper Woods I am positive they never imagined all the beings coming their way. Now that Rome has not only embraced his inner unicorn but now has his eyes wide open to all the supernatural beings that have chosen Proser Woods as their home. But the one he truly embraces is his lover Vincent, who is an over 700 year old vampire, complete with fangs and a thirst for his blood!
I am rapidly falling for Rome and Vincent. Who would have ever guessed I would become hooked on a vampire and a unicorn but low and behold I am going off the deep end for these guys. And I can tell you no one is more surprised than Rome and me with all the magical creatures that are showing their true selves.
I will say that Greg is rapidly warming my heart too. He and Sam are the good guys surround by bullies that took advantage of their place in the pack at all the werewolves expense. I think Greg’s new direction is going to be an excellent fit for the community. And I hope he and Sam eventually figure out what is so easy to see…their true love.
I can’t believe so much has happened so fast. These first two books span only 3 weeks. And I can say, I hope we have seen the last of Floyd and his horrible entourage. They are plain old bullies and I say good riddance to them. I know Sally sure won’t miss them!
If you have not read the prequel (book 0.5) True Knight I strongly encourage you to read it first. It is how Rome and Vincent come together and is an introduction to all the characters in these books.
I am really looking forward to True Blue. That little boy’s agony is breaking my heart. But if anyone will help him I know Rome, Vincent and their new friends will. I can’t recommend these books enough. Be prepared to be laughing hysterically one moment, blushing the next and then be so suddenly riveted to the pages that you can’t turn fast enough in the blink of an eye! Oops was that just a Vincent slip? 😉
