Synopsis
Music isn’t all that Scorned Gods has to offer.
Iconoclast (Scorned Gods 1): Death metal group Scorned Gods needs a new singer. Firestarter’s former lead singer Jason Summerfield and his lover Julian Kristados are back in the United States, and Jason is itching to get back on stage. What he gets, however, is far more than that — and not all of it is good.
Delirium (Scorned Gods 2): Jason and Julian have acquired a new lover, Scorned Gods’ bassist, Saul. But a cult of vampires is hell-bent on starting a war between mortals and vampires. Its first prime targets are psychic vampires like Jason’s bandmates…
Shackled (Scorned Gods 3): With help from an Abaddon ally, Jason and his bandmates will have to act quickly to stop Harlan Yates. The escaped mortal, Daniel, is the unwilling beacon that can bring destruction upon them all.
Karma’s Brutality (Scorned Gods 4): With their allies from Abaddon, Jason takes the fight directly to Yates. Jason and his bandmates from Scorned Gods are about to discover combat is not for the faint of heart. Not everyone will come out unscathed, but that’s the nature of war.

“So I gotta ask… is the firestarting real? Or a stage trick?”
Jason stood and motioned toward the door. “I need a smoke. Come on.”
Curious, Saul followed him outside and around the building. Jason tugged out a pack of cigarettes, tapped one out, and held up his palm. He stared at it, and in the blink of an eye, a small blue flame flickered to life, dancing right above his skin.
“Holy shit,” Saul whispered.
“Touch it.”
“What?”
Jason smirked, lips slightly curled around his cig. “It won’t hurt you unless I will it to.”
Saul reached out. The flame enveloped his fingertip, but there was no pain. “How… ?”
Jason shrugged and closed his fist, snuffing the flame. “Beats the hell out of me. Been able to do it since I was real young. I can control it now, though. There’ve been a few times when it’s taken on a mind of its own, but the older I get, the easier it is to handle.”
“What does your lover think about it?”
Jason laughed and tapped ashes onto the ground. “Julian loves it. It’s what drew him to me. Regular fire can harm — even kill — a vampire. My fire doesn’t. So what about you?”
“Me?”
Something in the way Jason gazed at him made Saul want to look away. The man had a lover, for fuck’s sake.
“Girlfriend? Wife?” Jason took another drag and exhaled a moment later. “Boyfriend?”
“Oh, um, none of the above,” Saul said. “I tend to avoid relationships or anything serious. Too many complications.”
“Yeah, I felt the same until I met Julian.”
“So… audition,” Saul said to change the subject. “We practice tomorrow night, seven. Any chance you’d come by and show us what you got?”
“I’d love to.” Jason stubbed out the cig with his boot and picked it up. “Text me your address. I can pull it up on GPS.”
Saul sent the text and heard Jason’s phone ding. “Well, I best get going. Haven’t had dinner yet.” And if he fed like he wanted to, Jason would catch the energy in a heartbeat.
Jason gave him another cryptic smile. “Same. No telling what Julian has in mind for tonight. See you tomorrow.”
Saul watched Jason walk away. Then he slumped against the building’s brick wall. “I’m so fucked.”

When not writing, Myc is usually playing PC games, reading, watching Netflix, and spending way too much time on Facebook. Since the question has come up in the past, pronouns are not an issue. Myc is bio-female, mentally male, and 100% genderfluid, so any pronoun works!
