The rules are clear: no names, no details, no complications.
But one night becomes one more night, and eventually the arrangement suits them both for weeks…until their professional and personal worlds collide. With their hearts already on the line, Michael and Bry need to decide just how complicated they want to get.
REVIEW:
Bryson Schroeder has returned home from two years on assignment in Singapore. He is out for a night with his mates when he notices a gorgeous guy at the bar giving him the eye. Well this would be a fabulous welcome home if he can seal the deal with this guy.
Michael Piersen is a very busy commercial real estate agent. He’s out for a night of fun – no strings attached. When he’s approached by a gorgeous guy who seems up for the challenge, they agree to a no names, no strings hookup. They go back to Michael’s for a night of the best sex either of them has ever had. Reluctant to let this be a one a done, they decide to keep meeting – one night a week, same rules. No names, no expectations, nothing but awesome sex 🙂
But one night a week turns into two. And then more 😉 When they both end up at the same bar, Michael’s friends call his name out – so Bryson has a name. He offers up his own name, but Michael refuses. That works fine until Michael’s boss gets delayed for a work meeting and the client – the one he has to close the deal on – turns out to by none other than Bryson 🙂 So the jig is up. Bryson’s best friend is along for the walkthroughs of the properties available from Michael’s company and so they have an interesting meeting. So now everyone knows everything about each other and Michael and Bryson need to determine if this will change their arrangement.
Michael and Bry are getting along so well though – and they spend more nights together as time goes by. There are some entertaining moments with unexpected drop-ins of family members. Bryson is focused on getting his new business up and running and Michael is determined to support him – any way he can. When someone close tries to derail them though, they get a rude awakening. Bryson and Michael are in this together. All the way.
This was a really fun story! I loved Michael – he’s such a happy character. He works hard and plays hard and he’s not afraid to ask for what he wants. And what he wants is no strings attached sex. Bryson is a bit more reserved – by nature and also because he’s been burned before by people who like him for his name and position and he’s not sure what they think about him exactly 🙂 The serendipitous reveals that occur throughout Michael and Bryson’s evolving relationship are what keeps us on our toes. I found the way their relationship grew over time believable and also pretty sweet. Michael’s relationship with his family is so different to Bryson’s. Bryson also has some baggage because of his wealth so he really wants to get to know Michael without that cluttering things up. It’s understandable and makes their growing relationship that much more fun 🙂 This is a low angst and very sweet story of two guys who grow from what could have been just an anonymous hookup to a happily ever after. Such a happy story with some needed growth for the couple of Debbie Downers in the group 😀
The narration for this story was brilliant! I loved Glen Lloyd’s characterization of Michael’s enthusiasm and Bryson’s slightly more cautious personality. His rather gruff portrayal of Bryson’s dad was also spot on. The other secondary characters – including Michael’s family and coworkers and Bryson’s friends and employees were also uniquely voiced and easy to identify in context. I’ve listened to a few of his audios at this point and I have to say, I’ve really enjoyed them. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a lovely sweet story resulting in all the happy feels 😉
