The Perfect Pass by R.M Neill
The Nickel City Bandits, Book 2
Can I find the perfect love with my best friend?
Austin Maloney
Playing professional hockey has always been my goal. I need it to provide a better life for my brother. I didn’t expect my best friend to block my shot at going pro, or be the person to captain my heart. How can I juggle love and family without losing sight of my dream job?
Logan Larkman
Playing hockey as a career was never my end game. It was a way to pass time until I could pursue my philanthropic dreams. Dreams that include my best friend. I need him to realize, our chemistry on ice doesn’t stop there. How do I make a play for the perfect partner when he can’t accept me as a possibility?
This story involves friends to lovers, bisexual awakening, innuendo-filled hockey banter, including an amusing debate about NHL mascots, the cutest orange cat, ice melting heat, and an adorable grand gesture.

I let myself out and head down to the hallway where Austin should be waiting for me. Just as I’m about to give up and think he left without me, I see him. He’s in his post-game suit and so freaking hot. His easy smile aimed my way sends my heart into overdrive.
“Hey, there’s my favorite left-winger. How did it go?”
He moves close, gripping my waist, hauling me closer to him.
“It was good.”
I try to push away, but he only holds tighter.
“Oz, there are still people around; they could see you.”
He shrugs. “So, they see me with my boyfriend. No crime in that.”
Boyfriend
I swallow loudly. “You want to be my boyfriend?”
“I was thinking I already was, Logan. I haven’t stopped thinking of you all day. I keep seeing that gif you sent and wanting to know if you feel the same as I do.”
Holy shit
“How do you think I f-f-feel, Captain?” My voice has trailed off, and I’m lost looking into his turquoise eyes.
“I think you might be liking me a lot. Maybe more than a lot.”
I’m never the nervous one, but I’m terrified over where this conversation is leading. How does he seem to shake me to the core like this? I want to hear it so badly, I have to ask.
My voice drops to a whisper. “What if I said you’re right?”
“I’d have to tell you I’m glad I’m not wrong. Because I feel the same way.”
His hands move up to my neck, and his thumbs stroke along my jaw. He oh so sweetly takes my mouth with his. He’s claiming every part of my mouth with his tongue, making my legs feel like jello. I flail my hands, fisting his suit jacket, and pressing our bodies as close together as I can get. I don’t know how long we stay like that, but we separate like a shot when someone clears their throat close by.

I spend my days drinking too much coffee and being grateful I live in a country without poisonous snakes.
