Kenn wants Warrick to be his teacher, his boyfriend…and his Daddy
Being the president’s son was never something Kenn wanted, but it’s the reality nonetheless. Home from college with nothing to do, he’s elated when his father hires a tutor to prepare him for law school.
Professor Warrick Duvall is kind, smart, and he has time for Kenn when no one else does. When the unthinkable happens and Kenn’s world is rocked to his core, it’s Warrick who is there for him, and the friendship with him is the only thing that keeps Kenn going. Warrick takes care of him, helping him find his footing again, and they grow even closer.
When others start to notice and warn him, it’s time for Kenn to be honest with himself and with others about who he is and what he wants. But how will his father react when he learns Kenn doesn’t want Warrick to be merely his teacher and his boyfriend…but his Daddy?
Care is a slow burn MM gay romance with an age gap and daddy kink (no age play), featuring a Daddy who doesn’t know he’s a Daddy and a needy boy who soaks up all Daddy’s care. It’s the fifth book in the White House Men series, a continuing MM romantic suspense series set in the White House that needs to be read in order. Care ends with a happily ever after, but the suspense plot ends on a cliffhanger and will be continued in the rest of the series.
REVIEW:
I have to tell you, if things from the other stories have triggered you, be aware, they are very much still discussed and some in detail as the case is being solved. If you read the last book, you will know there were two more tragedies and in this story, it picks up where all are trying to recover. The President and his son the most, I think, but all are affected in their way and it’s wearing them all down.
This story is mainly about Kenn and his journey, but one thing about these stories, is all the characters are included because they are all involved. By either relation, friendship, or because they are staff at the White House. And in those close quarters, even with the White House being large, you still can’t help but form some bonds. But in this case, for Kenn, it’s the opposite. He was his Mama’s boy and now he’s lost. He had one person he thought of as a friend, and although they still are friends, things have changed. And being on lockdown is not helping a bit. With Professor Warrick coming in, it gave him a bit of freshness he needed.
But I hate what he’s had to go through and now having to go through even more and he’s finally discovering who he really is and what he is in life. And the one person he feels he can get what he needs it from is running scared. And I get it. I do. It’s not easy being a President’s kid. Even as easy going as Del is, it’s complicated. I think the funniest part for me in this whole book has been Milan’s role in everything lately. He’s had to be up close and personal in things he’s not good at and it’s making him all weird lol. It really is funny. But what I love as well, is even though he had to be told, he finally got what he personality and his ways were doing to Kenn and he set it straight quick. Not just with Kenn, but with Warrick. And with with Del for both of them.
This is a hard story. The case is still being dealt with, the grief alone is overwhelming, but what has been the most amazing thing, is how that inner circle has closed ranks and everyone is having to grow up the hard way, but they are growing. They are seeing things in ways they never have before. Learning things of each other that are bringing them on deeper levels. And in the sadness of it all, there is hope. It’s barely there, to be honest. But it is there. They all know that no matter how hard things are, life has to go on. And you either move forward or let it go.
I’m hoping from the hints in the last part of this book, that things are about to get interesting in the next one. Because if Calix has done what I think he has, (and he has), life in the White House is about to get even more interesting. And I’m waiting to see how this is all going to play out. I almost feel like Milan at this point. Where I just sit back and watch with glee at what’s coming. And I have a feeling Milan will be doing just that. The little turkey lol. Oh how the sparks will fly.
Make sure you guys are reading these and in order. That’s a must. Yes, there are cliffhangers to a point but as bad I hate them, it’s worth it in the end. This has been a hard series but a dang good one and worth every page.
