The call never came.
So, I did what any major league hopeful reject would do: I went to the bar to escape my reality.
When I locked gazes with a pair of gorgeous blue eyes, I knew the night was going to be anything but normal.
Especially since I’d never been with a man.
One night of passion left me questioning everything. It was supposed to be a random hookup but when I walked into my summer school course there he was, standing at the front of the room.
My professor.
Will Monroe catch me, or will he strike out?
REVIEW:
Monroe doesn’t do relationships, a broken heart was enough to never get involved again. One-night stands are his thing and the guy who sat next to him at the bar is a nice one for a hookup.
Kalen Bishop wants to get drunk, he’s a promising college baseball player only he got drafted. Instead of getting drunk, he gets an invite to come to the hotel room of a gorgeous guy. His dick agrees but he’s not sure, he’s straight right?
They have a passionate night where Monroe is hot, sweet, and obliging with Kalen’s inexperience.
After that night both can’t get the other out of their mind.
Kalen and Monroe are highly surprised when they understand Monroe is Kalen’s teacher for the summer course.
Monroe wants to continue what they had but Kalen refuses, he wants to stay in the friend zone. His future depends on this summer course and he would never survive after his family and friends would know about him being… not straight, bi?
Kalen’s life isn’t easy with an awfully demanding father.
The teacher/student aspect wasn’t what was main here in this narrative, it was present but lesser than I expected. It was more about life goals and expectations, falling in love, exploring sexuality, and family matters.
This story was entertaining and enjoyable, with quite some steamy moments. I missed some deeper connection between the main characters, for me, it felt a bit flat. I also forgot at times Kalen was an adult, he felt a bit immature, ditto for Monroe. There is a heavier part about family matters, they were well pictured. Some precious friends were a good addition. The next book will shine the headlight on Baker. Something to look forward to.
