Owen Lipke is looking for adventure. When he hears about a ranch in the Muskokas catering to kinky men who don’t want to settle for backroom amateurs, he signs up in a second.
At the Braided Crop Ranch, Owen finds what he’s looking for: A sex-positive space with safety protocols and Doms (trainers) who know their business. And a stable full of well-behaved ponyboys to prove it.
Owen thinks his trainer, Kamal, is hot as hell but finds being a ponyboy isn’t as intuitive as he expected. As he struggles to learn the basics of equine pet play under the firm hand of his trainer, he finds himself falling for the experienced older man.
And perhaps Kamal is developing a thing for the young, adventurous newcomer. But there are rules about fraternizing with staff at the ranch. And Owen wonders if it’s wise to fall in love with the pragmatic trainer who unravels him layer by layer to expose his deepest needs and most secret proclivities.
But perhaps wisdom is overrated. And maybe the rewards of adventure are only achieved when you abandon caution and take a huge leap of faith.
REVIEW:
Owen is bored with the current BDSM scenes he has, can’t seem to find the right experienced Dom.
A friend tells him about The Braided Crop Ranch, a kinky BDSM ranch, they train men to pony boys, after reading about it online, he decided to subscribe
We get a view of his preparations for his six-week leave, his arrival at the ranch, how he gets an introduction to all the other people, the ones who work there and the ones like Owen, who were there to explore their fetish. Looking around his eyes stopped at a tall, dark-haired man with a black beard, what a beautiful man!.
It seems it’s his lucky day, this man named Kamal will be his trainer.
There are restrictions, rules to follow. No fucking with the pony boys, play around is allowed, but no penetration.
The attraction is instant and strong, even though Kamal is super professional he also seems to struggle with his feelings for Owen and the rules about fraternizing, luckily he has some equipment to use on Owen.
These events are highly sensual and delicious, all wonderfully pictured.
Owen came for some adventure and got much, much more. Being guided and praised by Kamal was exceptional, Kamal pushed him to the edge and kept him from falling, quite emotional. Watching them under these circumstances was extraordinary.
There is something special growing between them, it’s passionate, sensual, and strong, only, what will happen when the training is done.
Kamal was such a great Dom, even me as a reader wanted to please him. He’s highly skilled as Dom, controlled, confident, experienced, patient, he was a sight for the eyes.
The author did a great job explaining all the equipment and the process of the training. Also, the interactions were wonderful and emotional.
What I missed was the view from Kamal, even though the author explained what was going on with him, I wanted to feel his strong mindset and emotions more. It was all told from Owen’s point of view.
In comparison with the widely way the story was written, the end felt a bit rushed and came way too fast, I yearned for a prolonged end.
I enjoyed this narrative, it was innovative, I loved the protagonists and all their interactions very!.
