BLURB:
A carefully forged peace is threatened by unforeseen danger.
The prospect of going to college terrifies Dustin, and he balks at using Casersis’s money to do it. Along with his normal, human insecurities, Dustin is beside himself between going to therapy to deal with changing species and worrying about his omega’s upcoming heat. But Dustin is unprepared for the new twist when he accidentally soulbonds with an enemy. Erastus is crazed to get Dustin away from Casersis and will stop at nothing to get his way.
Casersis is trying his hardest to put Dustin’s mind at ease, despite not understanding the very human hang-ups getting between them. But when his public relations officer attacks him, Casersis’s worries shift from Dustin to those trying to hurt him and his alpha.
With his mate distracted, Dustin’s new soulbond could cost his relationship with Casersis. Or—even worse—his life.
REVIEW:
Erastus and Casersis have a feud for over four millennia-long. Now Dustin is in the middle of it, he can’t hate Erastus as Casersis does.
Dustin is in process of changing into an Elf. Erastus does everything to get Dustin away from Casersis. He wants him to know who and what Casersis really is and what he has done in the past.
Casersis and Dustin’s bond is getting stronger, they can sense each other’s emotions running through it.
After everything they’ve been through their growing love is what holds them solidly together.
The communication is somewhat better than before and so Dustin has less urge to run away from Casersis. Casersis still wants to spoil Dustin to the extreme. There are several threats to overcome including the unexpected soulbond to the enemy. Then there’s Casersis’s heat coming up.
While I enjoyed reading, I had mixed feelings. There are a lot of different matters going on but I missed deeper elaboration. The story is mostly narrowed to Casersis and Dustin’s relationship and still a bit repetitive about how they feel and think. I loved how Casersis’s heat part was pictured and also some revelation about the past was well done.
I can’t fathom Erastus’ characters, is he evil, is he kind, what does he want to achieve?
When I look back at this story, I can conclude the mc’s made some progressive steps in the right direction, we get answers to some questions, there are still some. I’m looking forward to the fourth and last installment.
