It’s Easter 1993, and the gang is going to Las Vegas for Angie’s surprise wedding. Noah is attempting to recover from a bad bout of the flu–and his disastrous Valentine’s Day, and is not all that excited to meet his new relatives: Cotton Preston and his three grown daughters. They’re staying at Lucky Days casino, a hotel with notorious mob connections… and family connections. It’s only then that Noah and his friends realize his future step-father might just be a mob lawyer. Things get worse from there with a mysterious appearing (and disappearing) suitcase full of cash, an aunt who’s not an aunt, a crazed redhead and… Wilma Wanderly.
REVIEW:
If you haven’t read any part of this series, you need to read the other books first. They REALLY need to be read in order or there are a LOT of things you will miss out on.
Of course, it never fails to crack me up that Noah and his friends find trouble no matter where they go. You’d think by leaving LA to go to a wedding in Las Vegas, would keep them out of trouble. But nope. They are in up to their eyeballs again. And it’s more personal this time. Because this time, they are trying to frame Noah’s mom. And that doesn’t fly. Of course, Noah and his friends are determined to find the clues to fix this, but it’s not as easy as it seems.
If you haven’t read the other books, there are also things about Noah you are missing out on. Now I can’t tell, because it will give too much away, but after everything that has happened in this book, I love Noah’s mom more than ever now. I loved her to pieces in the last books, because that woman is a hoot. Truly. But she did something in this one that just……made the book for me. I loved the book anyway. I love the mystery and the intrigue. Finding the clues and figuring out who did it. And it’s all funny to read in the process because Noah and his friends are pistols. They are so hilarious at times. It just makes the mystery that much better. Doesn’t mean it always ends well or turns out that great for Noah most times, but it’s still a blast to read.
This series has just been another one of those that you can’t put down. Once you start getting into it, you can’t stop. You never know what one of them are going to do, or what’s going to happen next. If the murderer is going to strike again, or if Noah and them go too far. It’s just a well put together set of books and this one just adds more to it. It’s been a joy to read and I’m hoping there are more in the future. I really love Noah. And what Angie did for him in this…..yeah, I really hope to see more of them in the future.
