BLURB:
A Singer draws energy from within to work what others would consider miracles: soothing the sufferer, tending the grief-stricken, and defeating enemies.
When Blagden, a Night Wanderer-Singer, meets Caleb, he is drawn to the Grand Fae’s struggle to accept his new life as a member of SearchLight. Caleb’s son is blind and the grand Fae have cast out all disabled children… and those who support them.
But Blagden has a terrible secret. He inadvertently steals energy from those he loves. When SearchLight is attacked, Blagden must choose between the Fae he loves and his resolve never to steal energy again.
REVIEW:
Caleb Cartwright is a Grand Fae and the head of the program for the visually impaired, he meets Blagden Graywolf at his interview as a teacher. Blagden is a magical, a Night Wanderer and a Singer, he grew up on a reservation in Utah.
Blagden has doubts about his interview, he didn’t answer their question about why he left his last job. He couldn’t.
Where Blagden tries to be a good teacher Caleb’s mind is horny over Blagden, everything about Blagden makes him fantasize about what the big man could do to him, sexually.
Caleb has a son who’s disabled, just like Blagden, fourteen-year-old Nathaniel is blind.
Following the law, he had to hand over the disabled boy, but he flew and saved his son by entering the SearchLight. He’d done anything to save him.
Even inside SearchLight, there is a threat to get disposed of the different ones.
With combined forces, there is a chance to eliminate the danger.
A wonderful story full of different kinds of magic, I loved it.
There is a focus on little details to read about. What can be heard, feel and smell, like the mesmerizing scent of Caleb.
I adored this story, for a short read it felt quite large, it had an outstanding amount of magic and the realm development was awesomely done. This whole narrative was captivating, very entertaining and enjoyable to read!
