REVIEW:
So, a few things. One, I don’t often read the thank you notes and such at the end of a book or the beginning, but I’m glad I did today. With all I’ve been dealing with lately, it was such a beautiful thing to see my name there from Ms. Susi. And thank you to Susi for letting me read these books and be a part of this world and journeys you created. Two, I am very torn with this being the end of the series. If you haven’t read this series, you’ve missed out on a heck of a lot. And a lot of messages and life lessons we all could learn from. I know for sure I could. But as much as I hated some characters at first, later I got to see them in a different light and I couldn’t have been more happy at how things turned out. This story was one of them.
And like all the rest, there are messages and life lessons involved. After the incident with Derek and Hunter in another story, Hunter needed his own happy ending. I hurt for Hunter with all that had happened to him, even with understanding to a point at why Derek did what he did. But what impressed me more than anything, was Hunter himself. Yeah, it was hard as heck having to deal with the glares and icy tones and comments and everything else, but he refused to lower himself to that level and out Derek, even though he really had every right to defend himself. And when Derek himself made a point to apologize and try to make amends, and eventually the family, he forgave them all already. It didn’t mean he wanted to socialize or be around them all because they had hurt him, but he was the bigger person in this case. He forgave. He let it go. No matter how bad it hurt, he let it go and tried to move on. And because of it, he turned out meeting the man of his dreams.
It doesn’t mean that everything with Hunter and Quinn were perfect either. Life doesn’t work that way. And I love that Susi makes these stories so real to life. Because life has a way of throwing curveballs at us that sometimes we can’t overcome all that quickly. If ever. But because they took the time to talk, even when things hurt, they knew or at least Hunter knew, that it would be alright in the end. They all just had to have faith life he did. And because of it, lives were changed. So don’t give up hope, and hold tight to those you love. You may be surprised at what could happen.
