I found him when he was a boy.
Bloody. Mangled. Near death.
If I’d been a merciful alpha, I would’ve snapped his neck and ended him right then.
Except, I didn’t.
Something in his big brown eyes tugged at my heart strings.
I kept him. Healed him. Raised him to be fierce, loyal, and brave.
Now that he’s an adult, everything’s changing.
He’s no longer the soft, scared beta I once thought he was.
No, there’s an uncontrollable anger inside him.
A rage-filled hate I don’t understand.
As a dangerous pack begins tormenting us and destroying our home, I feel him pulling from me as he seeks justice.
He thirsts for revenge, even if it means leaving our pack and going solo.
But, as his alpha, I won’t let him go without a fight.
Each time he pushes, I pull him right back to me.
I’ll keep him locked in my arms or pinned beneath me forever if that’s what it takes to keep him.
A shift of morals has begun.
One I don’t understand, but certainly don’t resist.
I’m the most powerful wolf on Beacon Island. I don’t have weaknesses.
Until now.
This wild, reckless young man changed everything when he stole my heart.
REVIEW:
Remy, a small boy of only eight years, got saved from death by Cyrus ten years ago. His mother and sister were already killed. He was heavily injured.
Now ten years later, he wished Cyrus had let him die. He feels trapped by the caring pack and his strong pack leader, Cyrus is too protective and possessive.
Lately, Remy feels so much anger, it’s burning him down.
The pack and especially Cyrus wants to protect him, always, every second.
Remy wants to be free, away from all their voices and energy.
Cyrus is the Alpha of the Beacon Island pack, a fierce, strong leader.
He’s the head forest ranger of Beacon Island National Forest.
Cyrus protective and extremely possessive over Remy, obliviously about his reason.
When Remy turns eighteen, Cyrus feels their bond is changing, that’s on Remy of course, not him.
There are men found killed in the woods. Now Cyrus is even more protective, Remy is even more anxious by him. He feels like a hostage.
New neighbors are arriving with a boy Remy’s age, it seems they like each other.
Cyrus is getting out of his mind.
That was one thrilling story. In the beginning, it started slow, it was all about Cyrus, Remy, and the pack. I’m not sure I even liked them. The build-up was good, only for me the story felt a bit split in two. Further on I felt more involved, I saw the whole picture better. It got thrilling, at times a sat on the edge of my chair.
The conversations and banter between the pack members were at times hilarious. So much fun.
I loved the way they communicated.
The story started a bit repetitive and felt jerky, later on, it got smoother.
Even though there was a lot of sexual tension the action was limited.
There are a lot of secrets to reveal. It was all surprising, I didn’t see it coming.
Overall a slow-burn narrative with entertaining content, I enjoyed reading.
