Austin Steele is my idol. He’s also the guy I can’t get enough of.
Everyone thinks they know who I am—one of pop’s biggest divos. They don’t know me at all. Austin Steele makes me want to me the real me, only there’s some problems:
We’re both omegas, he’s nineteen years my senior, he’s nursing old wounds, and he wants to keep what’s happening between us a secret.
I thought a one night stand was all I wanted. Now it’s becoming so much more. But how can we look to the future when we can’t let go of our pasts?
Unapologetically Me is the third book in Offbeat Shifters, an m/m paranormal romance series with a continuing storyline. This book includes a misunderstood and unapologetic Arctic fox shifter, a caring capuchin monkey shifter, and a HFN ending. While it’s set in an alternate universe where omegas give birth, there are no pregnancy or birth scenes in this book.
REVIEW:
Such an emotional story!
I was looking forward to this one, I can announce it didn’t disappoint!!
Austin Steel will never get an award for being the best dad. He showed his worst side in book one, in book two he showed some little affection but here… omg it was everything!
Having a child at a very young age Austin’s career ended, he was a musician, famous already. But with parents who let him down, he had to give up everything, he lived his career through his son, see books #1 and #2, who now is a famous musician. Austin was and still is lonely.
Austin is Charlie’s idol. Charlie himself is a well-known musician but he has the hots for Austin.
One night with Austin is all he wants, to get him out of his system. No strings.
Austin feels used, he had a great night, but Charlie didn’t want more. He feels old and used.
One night isn’t enough for now. They are hot together, two omegas, perfectly fitting.
Still, Austin feels too old, he wants to keep their connection secret, it will certainly damage Charlie’s career and how can he ever explain this to his son, who is just a year younger than Charlie.
With them being together some veils are falling, they both show who they are, the real thing. There is a lot to know, read, and be amazed as I was.
One of the advantages of a series is the characters become like family and good friends, you feel connected, you know them, you feel for them.
All events are beautifully written, at times quite emotional, I couldn’t stop tearing up.
Austin, my goodness, he made big steps.
Both men are flawed and I loved them for it. It was everything to see them be real, without the walls, naked real, vulnerable, honest, loved, and… hot.
The author did an amazing job with this series, with developing Austin and Charlie’s characters, all so very beautifully layered. When they shift *hearts in eyes*
There is more story to tell about these two men, they aren’t there, yet! I can’t wait to start #4.
