BLURB:
When Lo is dragged into the tattoo shop by his bossy cousin, he steals everyone’s attention. The big man is afraid of needles but wants a tattoo to celebrate an important moment in his life. And he wants Amos to do it.
Tattoo artist Amos is mesmerized by Lo from the moment he lays eyes on him. He’s huge but kind, strong but gentle, and his freckles … God, his freckles.
They hit it off immediately, but Lo grows nervous as the big moment approaches. Will Lo flee from the tattoo machine before they have time to get to know each other? Before they have the time to see if the sparks will turn into something more?
REVIEW:
Lo visits a tattoo shop – well visit isn’t exactly accurate – gets dragged into the shop is more like it 😉 His cousin is obviously the boss of him 🙂 But he does really want a tattoo. And he wants Amos to do it. Amos is pretty happy with his life as a tattoo artist and painter. He’s also really drawn to the gorgeous man who seems both resolute and reluctant about getting his first tattoo. Their flirty banter distracts Lo (and Amos at points), but they finally agree on a sketch. While Amos is setting up though, Lo’s anxiety reaches its zenith. Amos has to do something a bit drastic to get him back on board.
*sigh* with heart eyes. I just love this author’s writing and this lovely little short story is no different. We get to know Lo and Amos as they talk about the tattoo – what Lo wants and why. This is pretty normal stuff, but important stuff as well. They are honest and share their pasts a bit and the fact that they are both single which leads to more flirting. I loved their banter and open regard for each other 😀 Amos really does his best to put Lo at ease and there is an obvious spark. This author seems to always be able to communicate these beautiful little moments where couples see each other, rather gingerly test the waters at first maybe, and then sparks seem to fly. The chemistry is immediate and we’re drawn into the relationship – invested from the get-go. This is why I absolutely adore her work. Recommended for any lover of a short story leading to a connection.
