Casersis yearns for a soulbond. But getting his wish may kill his new mate.
Casersis has been keeping a secret. And the longer he avoids Dustin’s attempts to pry it out of him, the harder Dustin chisels away at Casersis’s resolve. Throughout this push and pull, Dustin is so bored he’s all but climbing the walls. To battle this, Casersis takes Dustin on a series of long-overdue dates, bringing them closer both emotionally and spiritually.
When Casersis finally admits his secret—that he yearns for a fabled soulbond—he’s surprised that Dustin is completely fine with the idea of eventually trying for one. But when it happens by accident, neither are prepared for the fallout. Dustin still has enough human blood that the soulbond causes excruciating, debilitating flares of agony. And if the fits don’t calm down soon, the soulbond may just kill him.
This 73,000-word non-shifter omegaverse novel is set in a world where mpreg (male pregnancy) is a fact of life. However, this series does not end with a baby or pregnancy.
REVIEW:
This story is the continuation of The Elven King’s Captive.
Dustin can accept he will be kept for his safety by Casersis. Only he’s getting out of his mind. .
Casersis promise to stay home most of the time so he’ll be not alone.
Taking him out on dates to keep his mind of going back to work as a constructor, is a step in the right direction.
Dustin can see the sadness coming from Casersis but gets no answers.
How can Casersis ever confess he yearns for a soulbond with Dustin, he just can’t.
To take Dustin’s mind off his state of sadness he’ll gonna learn Dustin some tricks.
How to use a sword or crossbow they have fun and it’s good for their bonding.
Then, accidentally, they bond. It’s overwhelming and could be the beginning or the end.
Ai, the communication isn’t how it should be, choices taken by Casersis without informing Dustin can destroy their happiness and bonding.
“It does not change who you are, just what you are.”
We are witnessing the bond getting stronger, they have dates, all enjoyable to read about.
Their sexual activity is sky high, there are some hot encounters to view, I loved the sleepy sex scene, very arousing!
The whole story is widely written, sometimes a bit repetitive because of little progress.
The main characters are nicely developed, thank goodness for Kevin and Beth, two great secondary characters.
The progress is slow so I’m curious how the next installment will be developed, and how far they will come.
In short, an intriguing and entertaining narrative, I love the concept and I love Elven. Still, more development about the Elven realm would be great, it’s a bit small narrowed down to the relationship of the two main characters, hopefully in the next episode!
