Three friends. Two lies. One truth.
Silence can be deafening. Billionaire Tycoon Zander Wright is no stranger to loneliness.
However, what happens when his friend-turned-enemy comes back?
Knowing Vadim is like dancing the space between heaven and hell. The ocean is an inch between ecstasy and misery. Like all things long since forgotten, young love always remains the most crippling of pain.
Zander Wright is aware of this. He’s felt the fatal blow of being love-struck—bludgeoned violently over the head with the taste and feel of utopia in his arms and in his bed.
Vadim Oblonsky will always be the one thing he wants, but can never have.
Just like Petyr Yahontov will always be the one thing standing in his way. A dangerous man, with a sweet dimpled grin that has connections to the Russian mafia. Petyr wasn’t supposed to take it this far. Now, someone in his inner circle wants him dead. Zander didn’t start this. He didn’t want any part of it.
But he will be damned if he doesn’t finish it.
Warning from the author – Years of Silence is a dark MM Romance. This book will take you on a journey of self-discovery and disillusionment, a psychological thriller with so many twists and turns it will make your head spin. Read an outstanding piece of literature of three friends and how one truth destroys all of them.
From Chapter 2
In the first antemeridian hours, there is a lull in the plane ride.
The private jet is sleek and smooth, vacant, and dark as it tears across the sky. Zander keeps his eyes on the black canopy of night, lingering briefly on each blinking star.
It’s almost time.
He can barely stand it. The muscles in his legs flex and his chest aches with something long since forgotten. Something that has long since torn from his chest.
Zander remembers December.
The frigid cold, icy winds that tore at his skin, and of course Vadim, a lone tear sliding down his celestial pale face, an angel.
What did you do to me? He screams, ghostly white eyes shining with murderous intent, blood flowing from his mouth, eyes turning into snake slits. They were once inseparable. He recalls it all.
Carlisle Wright, his adoptive father, took note of their friendship, how close they were, and how their bodies nearly meshed into one. He didn’t like it, couldn’t stand it, and thought it would be best to tear them apart.
Absentmindedly, he scratches the back of his neck.
Then flinches. His fingers press down—there.
The world fades, he hears nothing except the raggedy sounds of his breathing. He opens his eyes, and sees nothing, stares at nothing. His fingertips press tightly against the tense muscle at the base of his skull.
He can feel the shape underneath—jagged splinters.
He removes his hand quickly.
Zander falls into a black hole of regret, it’s dark and deep and he flails about finding no escape.
“We’ve almost arrived.”
He jerks awake. Not realizing exactly when he fell asleep. It must have been that damn medication; it always makes his daymares more vivid.
A Yale graduate and co-founder of Z&G LAW FIRM INC. shits himself in his sleep.
What would they do, if they knew? He wonders briefly, grabbing a glass of water and draining it promptly. His office alone racks up over a hundred million a year and numerous international board members, not to mention those backed by the greediest judge’s money can buy.
Zander is no different.
His father was deeply involved in politicians and mass media organizations. They pull the strings of society; he merely watches the world burn. Zander takes out the case file, his eyes skimming over the information he’s nearly memorized at this point.
Vadim Oblonsky.
Charged with attempted murder, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, grand theft auto, and last but not least attempted arson. The picture of the mugshot made something stir within Zander.
“Fuck.”
That face still haunts his dreams even until now. Zander rubs his temples, his eyes lingering on the photo for a moment longer before he puts it away.
He couldn’t allow himself to be consumed by his emotions. At the end of the day, he still had a job to do, regardless of the tilde wave threatening to overtake him.
“We are landing.” The stewardess says, she smiles prettily at him and gestures for him to buckle up.
Once they land a black BMW is waiting for them, his driver gets out of the vehicle and opens the back door for him promptly.
“Everything alright Zander?” Erin Miles says, his dark skin is shining in the moonlight. He’s been Zander’s driver since he was a child, maybe even longer than that. Erin is a willowy African-American, old and withered by life, but he’s the kindest man Zander’s ever known.
He waved his hand dismissively. “I’m fine.”
“Big day today eh?”
“Indeed.”
Heaven and hell, demons and angels. J.K Jones has always had an affinity for otherworldly things. From her debut novel, it’s easy to see she loves all things crawling in the shadows. As it so happens, J.K Jones is the author of a gritty, fun, action-packed, soul-rending novel. Her characters are so dark and twisted they defy the dimensions of this world. She does not believe in HEA, she does believe in writing a suitable ending for her characters. Never will you read any of her works where the characters ride off into the sunset together. Not going to happen. There is nothing J.K. Jones loves more than a tragic ending. She is an avid reader, poet, and LGBTQ activist. She is a University graduate with a BA in Sociology, also has a TESOL certificate for teaching English as a Second Language.
