BLURB:
Small towns thrive on gossip, and as the owner of the local bar I consider myself keeper of those secrets. The bar is like a confessional, a place to unload. My sanctuary where my secrets stay hidden and the focus is never on me.
I keep my world orderly. None of the bad touching the good. Little dividers allow me to live with myself, which isn’t easy in Arrowood.
It worked until my one lapse in judgement showed up to bite me in the ass.
My best friend’s arrogant, moody, and persistent little brother who just won’t take no for an answer. I’ve never wanted and hated someone so much in my life. He’s determined to pull my secrets out of me—I’m determined to resist him.
REVIEW:
They met once, eight years ago in NYC, at a New Year’s Eve party. Something happened all those years ago and now they meet again and are confronted with it. .
Cody’s brother Sage arrives in Arrowood. Their parents are missing (again) and Sage has no home or work anymore, he’ll be staying with Cody.
When Adam sees and recognizes Sage he’s angry. Wtf is Sage doing here and why can’t he stay still about all those years ago.
Sage can’t quite remember what happened all those years ago in the first place. But with a hot Adam before him, he really wants to know.
Okay, they can’t stand each other and are fighting with every opportunity.
Adam is constantly infuriated by Sage and Sage loves to tease him, even though he can’t get by the fact Adam hates him.
Sage gets a whiplash with Adam hot and cold all the time. .
One moment he’s angry and grumpy, banning him from the bar, the next he gives Sage hot kisses, closing up again, pushing Sage away gets in his car and drives away, yes whiplashing! .
Wait for it when Adam opens up!!
I loved grumpy Adam and his rating list. He’s a bit of a bad friend, but I still loved him.
It was an awesomely written narrative, I couldn’t put it down. In book #1 and #1.5, we already get to know the friend slash family crew and omg prepare for some silly get togetherness! .
The family is nosy, rude, and blunt, you can only shake your head and love them.
Adam and Sage together was so much fun. I loved their personalities!
There are also some serious emotional matters and all well entwined into this story.
Overall an entertaining and enjoyable experience, emotionally nicely balanced, and pleasantly written.
