BLURB:
Marred by heartbreak, I fled Arrowood at eighteen. I couldn’t spend the rest of my life watching my best friend get a happily ever after I couldn’t be a part of.
Fourteen years later with nowhere else to turn, I’m back. A freshly divorced single dad, trying to mind my own business, which would be a lot easier if the person who drove me away all those years ago didn’t keep popping up every place I turned.
My lost love is either determined to drive me away a second time or pick up where we left off and I’m not sure which is worse.
REVIEW:
They were everything for each other fourteen years ago, but the last part of it was horrible and Avery ran from Arrowood. Avoiding Danny there was impossible, it’s too hurtful.
Now Avery is back with an eight-year-old daughter.
Danny can’t believe his eyes. After all these years the love of his life is back. Now he has to let him know how sorry he is.
Avery is getting stalked by Danny, but he can’t let him come too close, not again, Avery’s heart couldn’t handle it. Keep distance is the remedy because he’ll be leaving again, soon.
Danny is determined, he won’t let Avery get away again.
Ahhh I loved this story, it’s a short one and has all the feelings. We did meet the family in book #1 already with Jensen and Aiden their story, the delicious nosy and witty parents are still hilarious, I laughed out loud!
We get a look into Danny and Avery’s past, their secret relationship and how it all ended, why Avery ran.
Avery’s brother Adam is still angry with him. Avery expects to be banned from his bar. (a nice detail from #1)!
Avery and Danny have a lot of intense conversations. Their physical connection is even more intense. Together they are the sweetest. I loved it all.
There was no unnecessary drama, it had enough emotions and the present drama was all handled perfectly.
Overall a lovely story with a good plot, a lot of positivity and lighthearted moments, entertaining and pleasantly written.
