Do you judge a book by its cover?
Do you decide whether to read it solely based on the cover?
I wouldn’t select a book to read purely because of its cover, but an appealing cover that catches my eye certainly encourages me to read the blurb. And if I like the blurb, I’ll most likely read the book.
My earliest books were published back in 2014, and I thought the covers were looking a little dated. I still liked them but thought they could do with freshening up. So this year, the Heroes series got bright new covers. What do you think? Do you like them?
Here’s a little more about the books.
Charlie’s Hero
Rejection may try to tear them apart but will ultimately bring them together.
Schoolteacher Charlie Matthews returns to his hometown seeking the life he’s been missing since coming out. He wants simple things—friendship and a sense of belonging—and it looks like his dreams are coming true when an accident brings Josh into his life.
When paramedic Josh Campbell attends an emergency and meets Charlie, sparks fly. He’s found the one person who makes him feel whole and who he wants to build a future with. But the thought of being rejected by his brother, the man who sacrificed everything for him, is overwhelming.
For Charlie to have his happy ever after, he needs Josh to take a chance, but is their love strong enough motivation for Josh? And if Josh’s worst fears come true, can their relationship survive the fallout?
It’s not until Charlie confronts his own past that he fully understands what Josh has to lose. But Josh is Charlie’s hero, and Josh will do anything to prove to Charlie that his dreams can come true.
Andrew’s Promise
A tragedy forces them apart. A second chance brings them together.
Young mechanic Andrew Campbell’s life couldn’t be better. He is about to restore a Ford Mustang with his dad before heading off on the ultimate cross-country road trip with his best friend, Tanner McKenzie. But tragedy strikes, and Andrew’s life is shattered.
Forced to make a tough choice between following his heart and doing what he needs to do to protect his little brother, Andrew pushes Tanner away.
Heartbroken, Tanner heads off on the planned trip alone. His life takes a different path and it’s ten years before he returns. Now a firefighter, he’s never forgotten his first love, and no one has ever taken Andrew’s place in his heart. He’s determined to see if Andrew feels the same way.
Tanner just hopes Andrew is excited to see him and that he’s available—and finally out—after all this time. Because if he is, the time might be right for their second chance at love.
Patrick’s Savior
How do you find love when someone doesn’t want you to be happy?
Patrick Edwards is dealing with a double whammy. Unwanted attention from his housemate’s boyfriend is making him feel uncomfortable in his own home, and he’s facing uncertainty with his employment as an administrative assistant at the local elementary school. He finally breathes a sigh of relief when a friend puts him in contact with Simon, who has a vacant room.
Simon Dawson is a paramedic who doesn’t hesitate to help Patrick. After all, no one should live in a house where they don’t feel safe. Simon develops feelings for Patrick, but doesn’t act on them—Patrick’s moved from a bad situation and doesn’t need his new housemate hitting on him. However, a weekend away changes everything when Simon realizes Patrick returns his feelings.
But someone doesn’t want Patrick and Simon to be happy. A series of strange letters arrive at the house, and things will get a lot worse before the two men get their happily ever after.
The series is available from Amazon and is available on Kindle Unlimited.
