REVIEW:
Blue Moon : This is Reality: Blue Moon Series is the second book of the series, right after Too Good To Be True. I am amazed at how great this book is. Not only for the fact that it finally tells us stories about the Beastmasters but also that it involves three couples in its entirety. How amazing is that?
So we know that the Beastmasters is composed of seven ex-Special Forces SEALS Operatives. They have operated both on domestic and international soil for assignments that are covert and highly-classified. They also train new recruits and groom these men into highly-trained future Operators.
We have previously met them in the first book when Angel was kidnapped and because his father is one of the Beastmaster, of course, they wouldn’t allow themselves to not be the ones to bring Angel back home. After that happened, they were put back into active operations and our story begins a few months after they have already been on a few missions in order to rid society of really bad people, drug dealers/suppliers, human traffickers, etc.
Pierce Nickols is Max’s best friend who readily planned the rescue of Angel, who was then the boyfriend of Max. Pierce is known for being a genius when it comes to planning out covert operations. But Pierce is not a soldier. And he had a really bad experience when it comes to men way bigger than him when he was still in school. He found them dangerous to be around. He braves it whenever he is around the Beastmasters because they are all big! But Hawk in particular doesn’t seem to get that, and he keeps on flirting with Pierce, asking him out several times, but to no avail. But as the Seer of the group, Hawk sees that Pierce fears him for a reason. He realized it soon enough that he decided to change the way he approaches Pierce after that.
Lieutenant Dane “Hawk” Aramis is a Beastmaster through and through. He has lived this life for so long that he is starting to long for some peace and quiet. He is tired of operating. He wants a chance to live the life he thought he might never have, but now that he has met Pierce, it might finally become a reality. If the guy would give him the chance.
Isadore “Shot” DeLucca is the father of Angel, Max’s husband now. He is an integral part of the Beastmasters, as they all are. He is a revered Marksman, just like Agent Fox. They have been in a “sort of” relationship for a year, more or less. But because of his PTSD, Shot is always afraid of having a real relationship because he had experienced hurting a lover during one of his nightmares. He doesn’t want to hurt Fox.
Agent Jason Fox is in love with Shot, but every time they got together, Shot would not stay with him. Until such time he finally confronted Shot and realized that maybe what he thought they had was only from his side. Shot would never love him back, Shot doesn’t think he is worthy enough.
Commander John “Call” Marion has been disfigured in one of their operations when the group was still in active duty. What once was a beautiful face has been disfigured for life. But When Alpha, who is gorgeous underneath all the black he wears, tells him that he is beautiful because of who he is inside, he starts to believe that maybe he is still worth the attention and love of this one man.
Daskshaun “Alpha” Armand has been known only as Alpha by his Order and by those who know of him as an Assassin. Not just an assassin but The Assassin. His attraction to Call is from deep within his heart and soul. They each have to let go of their secrets though in order to start on the kind of relationship that they both have been looking for.
Now imagine voicing all these amazing Alphas! With these many main characters and side characters, you need to possess that talent of voicing over that will require distinct qualities for each. Mr. Tim Paige was able to deliver and more! Being able to voice over several characters and maintaining each distinct personality in each requires focus and so much talent. Not an easy feat to achieve. Mr. Tim Paige has truly outdone himself in narrating this awesome story! Truly amazing!
Reading and listening to this amazing tale of bravery, vulnerability and just being human can really make you appreciate the amazing writers and narrators who go out of their way to make each and every book unforgettable!
