The end of last year brought a few changes, one of which was the safe arrival of my very late new granddaughter Addie, who finally greeted the world on Christmas Eve. Needless to say our Christmas was very much play by ear, but we managed to get together as a family, including our new arrival.
Last year writing wise was all about backlist, apart from one new co-written story The Harp and the Sea. Lou Sylvre and I are busy planning our next Magic in the Isles story, so that’s my new book writing focus for this year.
But in saying that, I do have two releases this year which are brand new books. They’re both spin offs of The Sleepless City series I wrote with Elizabeth Noble. I have the first drafts finished of both, so the bulk of the work is done.
Rosebound is book 1 of my Kiwi Psi series, and Double Exposure is book 1 of Pōneke Shadows, and continues Ben and Simon’s story. They’re both set in Wellington. I’d decided a while back that we need to have more paranormal/urban fantasy books set here.
Before I get started on those however, I’m going to republish the final two books in my WWII Echoes Rising series. Winter Duet will be out very soon, and Comes a Horseman my focus after that. Once I’ve sorted out paperbacks that is, as they’ve been on the back burner when life took a nosedive in the final months of 2020.
Then it’s my Wellington set contemporary romance Prelude to Love out in the world again with some extra scenes added to it. That sets up nicely for the rest of the year’s New Zealand theme.
I’ll be updating here with my monthly posts as I take each new step in my writing journey this year so stay tuned.
Meantime I’d love to see some of you in my readers group and/or signing up for my newsletter.
[…] Then on Tuesday my regular monthly post at Love Bytes Reviews went into more detail about my publishing plans for this year. As with 2020, there’s a mix of genres, with more Echoes Rising, plus I’m launching my two spin off Sleepless City series in 2021. You can read that post here. […]
