An old enemy lurks in the shadows, threatening all he holds dear. A dead witness. A kidnapping attempt. Arson. All send the message: “I’m coming for you.” Hiding in Atlanta’s underbelly, always one step ahead of Lucky, the killer will stop at nothing to exact revenge on the man who thwarted his plans.
But if anyone thinks they’re going to take away the perfect world Lucky’s created, they’d better think again.
REVIEW:
OMG, no. The final book in the Diversion series! As much as I’ve been eager to have my questions answered and to see these men living their happily ever after, I also never wanted this series to end. I will never stop needing more of Lucky, Bo and all of the amazing secondary characters that make these books some of my favourite reads.
This installment sees Lucky and Bo finally having to deal with Landry, the bad guy who disappeared after doing his bad guy stuff a couple of books ago. This is the showdown that I was wanting to happen, and we also finally get to know the truth of O’Donoghue – is he as honest as he seems or does he just play a really good game of evil mastermind? The whole past cast is here for the final book, and what I love about this series is that the author ensures that each secondary character is developed enough that we remember them and don’t get them mixed up. And also, they are all interesting enough that you don’t mind if the author spends some time on them rather than focused on the relationship between our main men. And speaking of their relationship, oh god, Bo and lucky are so loved up and totally in sync with each other that it’s gorgeous to read. There is such a startling difference between the first half of the series and where we find ourselves now in terms of the connection and communication between Lucky and Bo. From that very first book, when Lucky kinda sorta had a cat that he didn’t know what to do with, to this last book where he has a whole extended family around him, complete with two kids of his own…reading how he isn’t afraid to show how much he loves his kids, and Bo. God! It’s ridiculously heart warming!
And just to make this final book more freakin’ awesome than most others… it has a super special epilogue that lets us know exactly how happily-ever-after happens for Bo and Lucky. This instalment also proves that Achy Breaky Heart isn’t only the official soundtrack for undercover-stripper-Bo, but also makes a kickasss nursery rhyme!!
