Someone is kidnapping Magicals. Kris Kringle and his soulmate, Bucket the Elf, are determined to find out why. Only then can they spend the rest of their lives together. But first they must find a suitable candidate to take over the mantle of Santa Claus. They find Griffin Kloss in the backwoods of North Carolina and realize they must get to him quickly.
Someone else is after Griffin and it’s not his former boyfriend, Jackson Frost. Whomever is after Griffin doesn’t want him for his good looks.
Putting themselves at risk, Kris and Bucket, together with Griffin, Old Man Winter, and members of The Wild Hunt, travel to the Ninth Realm, in search of answers. There, in a dark and dismal place, they discover that Krampus, an ancient evil once thought dead, is still alive and at large. Now, they must join forces to battle demons and the menace that threatens not just their happy-ever-after, but the very existence of Earth Realm.
REVIEW:
To review this narrative I had to hang above this story to get the right overview. There are so many details, so much is happening. The story started already magnificent I was speechless.
Roughly description, there are three alternating lines to follow first: Kris and Bucket who tried to find a replacement for Kris as Santa, second: Griffin and Jackson, Griffin who lost his love Jackson and gets aware of his own special gifts and comes in trouble and last: Krampus and the Ninth Realm. Then it all comes together, the circle is round. It’s like an explosion of a supernova. It’s all extremely adventurous and spectacular!!
Kris is Father Christmas aka Santa Claus and Bucket’s lover, after nine months of recovering Bucket, the tiny Elf can finally watch his beloved brown-skinned man with coal-black eyes wake up. He is more than a hundred and seventy and looks not older than in his late forties, what a delicious sexy Santa.
“Come to Santa, baby.”
That’s just one tiny part of this narrative. We meet Griffin and somewhat later we meet Jackson. (After I finished this read I saw on Amazon Griffin and Jackson have their own story) Later on, we meet Griffin again and under wild circumstances. The Magical he is lands in jail.
Kris and Bucket are looking for the new and next Santa. After a bumpy traveling through realms and portals, they end up on earth. Looking for Griffin they find him in jail. A lot of commotion is happening and Kris, Bucket, Griffin, and others have to solve the biggest problem of all Realms and travel to the Ninth Realm where Magicals and also Jackson are imprisoned by Krampus. The Ninth Realm is the hell of all realms, the black hole of the universe.
“Are we talking about something philosophical here? ’Cause what you’re saying is making me super horny.” Yes, between, anxious, thrilling, and even gore moments, there is also humor!
A lot of creatures are to behold, Magicals, Elementals, trolls, elves, demons, fairies, gnomes, minotaurs, and many more. There are quite some emotional moments and also a huge amount of magical energy! In my opinion this story should be on screen, it was magical and thoroughly developed on every possible level. The world-building was creatively unique and exquisite. The lovemaking merged with the cosmic energy was delicious dirty and magical. All the layered feelings the author wrote about were enormous, overwhelming, grandiose, and coming from the deepest of the universe. Ha! I loved it all hard! I cried my eyes out, Kris and Bucket together so so beautiful!
It’s a story about good and bad, light and dark, with grittiness, spirituality, energy, sexiness, at times horrendous, frightening but also sweet and naughty. Following all characters in their battle to save not only the captured creatures but also the Earth Realm, was immensely enjoyable, this is fantasy from the highest shelf.
Highly recommended for all fantasy lovers.
