Family is supposed to love you—sometimes they’d like to love you to death…
Once he was a day warden to his two best friends…until one day he threw it all away. Now all Gabriel Gillis wants is it all back. He just has to make up for a century or four of trying to kill said friends.
Daven Banks is a member of the guild who doesn’t like change. Even more so when his day warden finds a mate and his replacement, Gabriel, is a self-confessed would-be murderer—even if he was terrible at it, thank god. It also doesn’t help that Daven is attracted to him.
It’s time for the fey to return from their entrapment and Artemis plans on claiming his two mates, Daven and Gabriel. At the same time, he has to reconnect with his own family.
Between bad shit they were already fighting and the new drama thrown at them by an evil sadistic witch masquerading as something she’s not, everyone needs to pull together to get the job done.
Can Gabe, Dav and Artie sort through all the bullshit to get to the heart of the problem, or will the heartstring curse end not only them, but the whole Banks family?
REVIEW:
Daven is heartbroken for centuries after his mate Artemis left him. Throughout the story, we get to know why and who was behind it.
Daven’s misbehavior against his day warden Gabriel has also to do with this.
There is a lot of dark magic going around!
Now, finally, Artemis is back and has some authority, he wants to protect his mates and find out who cursed his mates and even more why?
There are a lot of characters and I wonder if reading the first two in this series would have been better. It was a lot to take in, and it got even more crowded.
Vampires, demons, witches, fey’s, I always love these creatures in a story.
To be honest, I really expected to love this story more than I did. I love some stories placed in magical environments, different realms, and creatures like vampires, demons. In big lines, I enjoyed this story, but I skipped through passages, they didn’t keep my attention. I would have loved the story more when some things would be more excited like Gabe was way too fast with forgiveness, the instant love didn’t do it for me and I didn’t feel the threesome, the solution to big problems was a bit simple.
There were parts I enjoyed only not all was to my satisfaction.
Overall a story I had mixed feelings about but was in big lines okay.
