At the North Pole, no one is more powerful and feared than the Prince of Frost. As general of the toy soldier army, Jack Frost has been working extra hard to put away the villainous Mouse King once and for all. If that isn’t taxing enough, Jack has to deal with the scandal and gossip brought on by news of his relationship with Rudy Rein Dear, captain of the Rein Dear Squadron, which hit headlines last holiday season. Lucky for Jack, his reputation has managed to deter any foolish attempts to stir up trouble. At least until now.
When someone sabotages Rudy’s plane during a test run a few weeks before Christmas, Jack is determined to find the culprit by any means necessary. The closer he gets to finding answers, the more difficulty he has not falling back to his icy ways. Has the Mouse King stepped up his game in order to throw Jack off his, or is someone a little closer to home behind the attempt on Rudy’s life? Either way, Jack has every intention of delivering a Christmas they won’t soon forget, even if it means losing the newfound warmth in his heart.
REVIEW:
Jack Frost and Rudy Rein Dear is definitely a match made in the Winter Wonderlands. They’ve been in love for the past two hundred years but hiding it because of their stations. Even elves at the North Pole has their pecking order. And the Prince of Frost and the captain of the Rein Dear Squadron was a scandal in the making to say the least. But I loved watching the fight for it and each other. And I love this world Charlie Cochet has created. It makes you long for winter and Christmas – just like a good holiday story should.
You could feel how much Jack and Rudy loved each other. How all they wanted was to be together without any outside interference. I’m usually not a fan of changing narrator in a series, but for the most part it worked for this series as we follow a different couple this time around. Tim and Noel do make an appearance, but they aren’t the focal point. I wished that the accent would remain consistent throughout the series, tough. But you can’t have it all. I enjoyed listening to Robert Nieman. He has such a pleasant voice and he lives the story he’s telling.
The Heart of Frost was a cutesy Christmas story and it will definitely bring you Christmas spirit.
