Holiday season is here, so I thought I’d answer the questions of a Christmas Tag I found online today. Feel free to tell me your answers in the comments, and if you celebrate another holiday than Christmas, feel free to adapt the questions to suit you better! Or tell me your favorite thing about December. đ
Whatâs your favorite holiday movie?
Sagan om Karl-Bertil Jonssons julafton â itâs a Swedish animated short film broadcast every Christmas Eve on Swedish television. Itâs a Robin Hood-esque story where the main character, a 14-year-old boy named Karl-Bertil Jonsson works at the post office on Christmas and steals gifts addressed to wealthy people and gives them to the poor and the homeless on the streets of Stockholm.

Whatâs your favorite Christmas color?
Anything that glitters?
Do you like to stay in your PJs or dress up for Christmas?
Usually, I have to dress up because Mom wouldnât approve if I showed up in my PJs. But this year, Iâll only be with my daughter and her family on Christmas, and sheâs less strict than my Mom. Maybe I can get away with PJs⊠hmmmâŠ.no wait. She’s more strict when it comes to holiday traditions, so I better get dressed đ
If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be?
My granddaughter, whoâll be three months old on Christmas
Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?
Iâm Swedish, and our main celebration is on Christmas Eve. So presents on Christmas Eve, sleeping in on Christmas morning
Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
Of course!
Whatâs your favorite holiday drink?
Alcoholic: glögg! Non-alcoholic: julmust. Glögg is a kind of mulled wine and I love it. It goes well with gingerbread cookies or saffron buns and I drink a looooot of it in December. Julmust is a soft drink that Swedes drink like crazy during the holiday season. Julmust outsells Coca Cola, the sales drop with 50% each holiday season, something that made The Coca Cola Company start a branch in Sweden just for selling julmust đ
Candy cane or gingerbread men?
Candy cane in my tree, gingerbread men to eat
Whatâs your favorite holiday/Christmas song?
I only get to pick one?? ButâŠbutâŠthatâs impossible. I canât do that! This is my top five, and thatâs the best I can do! đ
- Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! â Dean Martin
- Last Christmas â Wham
- Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis â Tom Waits
- Iâll Be Home For Christmas â Michael BublĂ©
- Mer jul â Adolphson & Falk
The last one is a Swedish Christmas classic!
Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Dude. Iâve lived in Sweden for most of my life, so yes.
Have you ever made a snowman?
Also yes. As a matter of fact, I made this mini snowman the other day when I woke up to snow on my balcony. (See picture below) Sadly, it melted, and all thatâs left of it now is the peppercorn eyes and the tiny carrot nose.
I prefer making snowball lanterns, though.

Name all of Santaâs reindeer.
Rudolph. Vixen. EhâŠDasher? I donât know, I give up!
*a few minutes later*
Okay, I googled the names. I did not know all of them! đ
Does your family put up a Christmas tree and who decorates it?
Yes! My family takes Christmas trees very seriously and we have a themed tree every year. My daughter and I are the bosses of the Christmas tree, and we are the ones coming up with the themes. This year, my daughter even organized all our ornaments in a spreadsheet. Iâve never loved her more đ This year’s theme is “nature” and we’ll make our own ornaments. I’ll probably post pictures from our ornament-making workshop on Instagram, so make sure you follow me if you want to see how that turns out.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
Real!!
If you could be under the mistletoe with anyone who would it be?
My husband, of course!
***
That was all. I hope you all have a good rest of the year, and let’s hope 2021 will be better than this year! â€ïž
Loved this! (Your mini-snowman was so cute!)
What is a snowball lantern? I’m Swedish but grew up in South Dakota so I guess the tradition didn’t make it across the Atlantic!
