Noel:
Being an elf isn’t as fancy as it sounds. I work alone, live alone and I like it. Kind of. I have a whole farm to myself and Little Kitty to keep me company. It’s not a lot, but I’m happy. I don’t need anything else. Right?
Caleb:
Finding out your girlfriend–who is also your Alpha–has been three-timing you isn’t fun. When I ran off the pack-land in a fit of rage, I didn’t expect to end up in a rainstorm. Or find my mate. But I did. He’s a man. And an Elf. A sweet, gorgeous elf.
Set in Stella Rainbow’s fictional town, Mistvale, My Elf Mate is a 25k words novella that will give you all the Christmassy feels with warm hot-chocolate, Elf and Santa costumes and fun times including super sensitive elf-ears.
REVIEW:
Noel is an elf who hasn’t had an easy time working for The Christmas (the company, not the holiday;) ) and so he’s been sent to work on and caretake the Christmas Tree farm in Mistvale. He’s actually find with the work – he’s got a nice cozy cabin all to himself and he doesn’t have to deal with the rest of the bureaucracy.
Caleb is a wolf-shifter whose only claim to fame is dating the female alpha of his pack. But when he learns he’s just one of three, he’s angry and needs to run it off – and ends up on Noel’s farm. When Noel finds him, he’s exhausted and Noel takes him to his cabin to take care of him. When it’s obvious that Noel hasn’t yet realized that he is not a dog, Caleb shifts that Noel is very surprised 🙂
Caleb recognizes that Noel is his mate. Noel understands mates, but he had not realized that Caleb was his mate as it isn’t common with elves. But he is terribly attracted to Caleb and it’s not exactly a hardship. Caleb’s happy that Noel doesn’t seem upset and they work they way to an understanding.
Caleb is anxious to leave his old pack and start a new life with Noel. There are other paranormals in town and Noel introduces them. This plays perfectly into Caleb’s decision to leave his pack and stay with Noel. The only thing he’ll miss about his pack is his best friend Devon, but maybe he can convince Devon that he doesn’t have to stay where he is either 😀
This is a super cute and sweet story about Noel the elf an Caleb the shifter. As is usual with these types of story, there is a rather quick recognition of mates and a bonding that takes place. Noel is adorable and he’s had a rough time so he’s a little skeptical at first that Caleb would want him. But Caleb is very very happy indeed to have found his mate. He’s not worried in the least about his mate being a man – with the exception that he’s never been with a man before and doesn’t want to disappoint. He’s quite clever though, and get around that little obstacle 😉 Noel is so happy to have found someone who appreciates him because he has not had that before. They are just perfect together. Their Christmas morning is all that they hope it will be and the beginning to their new and happy life. If you’re looking for a quick sweet read with little angst or conflict, then this might be the holiday story for you
