It sounds like an intriguing series. I’m genuinely torn as somehow the covers scream gloomy tales to me and I avoided not-happy-tale books lately. I enjoy CJ Baty’s books though.

Thanks Didi, I can assure you though there is angst in these books, they all have HEA’s. The present characters and the past characters all find their happiness. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love how the figure is shadowy. The historical tread draws in the reader.

Thank you. My cover artist really knows how to bring the story in the cover. I love all 3 of these covers.

These books look like they took a lot of research.

I’m sorry that I’m just seeing this. But I wanted to answer your question, yes there was a lot of research for all the books. Smoky Mist – I actually visited the railroad museum and the logging camp site in this book. Cannon Fire – As a girl and teen, while visiting family, I drove by the house described in this book. It actually does exist and the cannon ball holes are really there. Coal Dust – My family has a close relationship to the mining community in Harlan County. I was born there.
So glad you noticed. I want my books to bring the past alive and the love special.
