There is some really weird stuff going on at that house.
Spell books, guns, and a giraffe in the backyard?
But no matter how strange it gets, Cort is not going to leave the grumpy writer.
Adjusting to sudden blindness is hard for everyone, but Grey clearly has deeper reason for needing his vision back at any cost. Cort just wished Grey would confide in him.
Even with Grey’s secrets, Cort has never been drawn to a man like he is with Grey and he will do anything to keep this man safe.
REVIEW:
This is the third book in a new series written by Ms. Jocelynn Drake and Ms. Rinda Elliott. It tells us about six brothers, six souls who find each other time and time again, in different and over several lifetimes. It also tells us about the three sisters who are goddesses who hold on to their powers, their magic, until the brothers are ready to have them again, one lifetime at a time! The Brotherhood of Weavers are here to protect the world from being destroyed by the pestilents, beings from another dimension who wants to siphon all our earth’s energy!
This is book three wherein we will get to know Grey Ackles more, his potential mate maybe and there probably will be the appearance of the still two missing Weavers. Grey Ackles is the Soul Weaver among his newfound brothers in the Weavers’ Circle. Just like the others, he has been gravitating towards the house or estate in Savannah. There is this restlessness deep within him that finally brought him to this place. When he met his brothers and fellow Weavers, Clay and Baer, in the first book, and Lucien in the second book, they were given an explanation of why things are the way they are, by the goddesses. So in restrospect, they have always been on the lookout for their other brothers over several lifetimes.
During one of the fights they encountered with the pestilents, Grey lost his sight. He now feels useless and helpless, he cannot see the auras of the people around them which can help them determine who is friend and who is foe. He used to be able to see the souls of those around them, help them determine their past, motives, desires and thoughts. Sometimes he could even manipulate people to be on their side, the Weavers’ side. And somehow he is able to tell if a person is the soul mate of the other person. But now he cannot do any of those. He feels like he has lost his purpose.
Now comes Cort Newton, a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist. Cort is positive, encouraging and doesn’t hold back on the truth about Grey’s predicament which Grey appreciates a lot. Cort helps him normalize his situation by teaching him coping techniques and ways to navigate his new normal. But it couldn’t be helped when a situation calls for Grey to go with his brothers to retrieve a new brother who just arrived into town. Aunt Willie and Aunt Jo, two of the goddesses, really need Grey to be there because only he can recognize their new brother, and as Cort doesn’t want to let Grey go alone, then he has to go with him. And so Cort sees things that are baffling and downright impossible, unless the supernatural is involved! The brothers, or rather Grey, had to tell Cort the truth about them.
In this installment, we will also meet the fifth brother, and he is quite adorable too! There are supposedly two brothers still missing but now one has found his way to them, so only one more brother left out there. He is the other one of Aunt Willie.
If you are into adorkable men who fall in love hard while fighting supernatural beings using their supernatural powers (that they struggled using and believing at first ) then this series will be a huge treat for you! You will love all the members of the family as well as their mates, you will root for them, fight with them and cry in frustration with them but most of all, you will fall in love with each and every member of this amazing supernatural family! This series is full of action, secrets, shapeshifting abilities, very sexy times, and so much love and fun! So let us get enthralled in this new world where there are witches, magic, soul mates and so much sweetness and love! Truly amazing! Congratulations Ms. Jocelynn Drake and Ms. Rinda Elliott!
