My best friend’s little brother is all grown up.
Figuring out my sexuality at nearly forty years old has been a revelation, but dating hasn’t been any easier. After a failed engagement, I know what’s important to me, and I refuse to settle anymore.
So when my best friend asks me if I can help his little brother settle in after being away, it sounds like a pleasant distraction. I always thought Felix was a sweet kid. Only ten years later, he’s definitely all grown up. He owns his glamorous style and larger than life personality, and I’m hooked.
But regardless of my budding interest, there is way too much at stake to even consider dating Felix.
We’ll have to keep it just friends, as long as he doesn’t tempt me…
Tempt Me is a steamy, best friend’s brother, age gap, low angst, tale featuring a sassy chocolatier who can rock a heel and lipstick, a tattoo artist ready to explore his newly accepted sexuality, and two opposites who definitely attract. It is book five in the Tattoos and Temptation series featuring hot Miami nights, Latin desserts, and guys with ink.
It can be read as a standalone, but why would you do that? Start with Marry Me and meet all the guys from T&T.
REVIEW:
Note: This is the fifth book in this series, and as such contains spoilers for the previous four books 🙂 I heartily recommend reading them in order.
Felix Marchand has returned to his family in Miami after a decade in the country of his birth, France. He’s tired of the rat race there and is happy to return to his fist love of baking and chocolate and sugar work without the pressure to become a big name. His brother Lucien calls his best friend Apollo to help him adjust back to Miami. Apollo enthusiastically agrees.
When Apollo sees Felix again, he’s blown away. Gone is the chubby teenager that followed him and Lucien around. A stunning man who is freely himself instead appears before him. Apollo is thrilled to be back in tough with Felix and they begin spending time together. He’s newly exploring his attraction to men and he feels comfortable sharing with Felix.
Felix has always wanted Apollo and he’s finally got an opportunity. But he’s honest about himself and what he wants. He’ll have to overcome Apollo’s worry about Lucien and the affect it might have on their friendship. But Apollo is more and more enamored of Felix the more time he spends with him and Felix is determined to make Apollo his 😀
Once again, we get a little different twist in the most recent book in this series. Felix is a lovely character. He’s a gay man who embraces his femininity through dress and makeup and his love of beautiful lingerie. He’s very honest about what he likes and what he wants – which is a huge turn on for Apollo. He’s also a good teacher and leader 😉 Apollo is a man who is exploring his newly discovered desire for men. When they collide – it’s fireworks. One of the sweetest parts of this story was Apollo’s desire not to hurt Felix or betray his best friend. He was smart about his approach to both – there was no deceit or hiding. Felix was also brave and somewhat surprised in his consideration of Apollo and his brother, but he definitely knew what he wanted and went for it. Their relationship build up was sweet 🙂 Both men also relied upon their new friends to help them navigate a new relationship. Jude and Luca supporting and encouraging Apollo to explore the possibilities was so helpful. The support of Felix’s parents was also really lovely. They knew Felix’s heart and also trusted Apollo to treat their son with love and respect. All of the previous couples in these series continue to contribute to the narrative of the new characters and that’s a lot of fun as well. This is just a really fun and sweet series to read. Recommended.
