A well-deserved celebration is in order for attorney Easton Elliott. Everything is going as planned until a tempting glimpse of the past sidebars the handsome attorney’s party.
An unexpected invitation has linguist Grant Holt excited about the spur-of-the-moment rendezvous. But words are futile when he arrives to find there’s been a mix up.
A text, a celebration, and a misunderstanding all lead to…The Hookup
REVIEW:
An unusual approach to introduce a story. I am loving it!
True love can withstand trials and challenges, no matter how hard it becomes. Because you will have each other to talk with, think with, support each other during these times. And if you got married, you vowed to be there for each other, for better and for worse, till death do you part.
It all started with a hookup, ten years ago. They are still very much in love! From time to time, they still indulge in role-playing in the same bar they have been coming to for the last decade. Tonight is one of those times.
Life is never easy, it puts roadblocks along the way. Grant lost his “thankless” job a few months, deep inside, Easton couldn’t be happy enough because that company does not appreciate his husband’s work. Grant traveled too much because of that job, Easton doesn’t see him enough. Grant feels useless, stagnant and his insecurities are surfacing back because for one, now he has too much time to think. He feels like he is not contributing to their lives enough, especially financially.
Easton notices the “defeated” stance that Grant has tonight and when he confronts his husband and ask him to say what he’s thinking so that they can resolve it. When Easton reassures Grant that he couldn’t be happier to have his husband home, and that whatever it is that is troubling Grant, they will face and overcome it, that they are each other’s life and love.
Marriage is never without bumps, and if your communication skills are lacking, what seem to be small hiccups can become insurmountable issues. I love how Easton cited all the best reasons why Grant being home makes him so happy. I love how Grant accepts his husband’s assurances without doubt. Ms. Kindle, I love your books, I can’t wait for more!
