Two closeted men in one rumor-hungry small town have no chance of keeping their love a secret.
Chief of Police Windsor Elkhart is a master deceiver. Not a single person in Jasper has a clue he’s gay, which explains the endless suitors all vying for his attention. Happily married to his job, he’s convinced life is good enough. Twenty years of abstinence is the price he chose to pay, all because of a secret he’s too ashamed to reveal.
Until Tomi Lee returns to town after a two-decade-long absence.
Shame and self-loathing have kept Tomi away from his home town, but can a simple message from a lonely police officer bring him back for good?
The people of Jasper prey on gossip. Everyone is watching everyone. No one is exempt.
Falling in love is easy, but do two closeted men have any chance of building a sustainable relationship when they’re always trying to hide?
Concealed Hearts is a low/med angst MM romance novel with two severely closeted main characters. It is part of the Hometown Jasper Series but can be read as a standalone
REVIEW:
This is the final book in the Hometown Jasper series and I have to say it will be sad to see it go. I really felt a connection with the men in this little town and the way author Nicky James wormed it in the hearts of the readers.
That being said, this final book is everything you could want in a novel. We get the story of Sheriff Windsor and Tomi, both men we met in book 3. Both men are closeted but there is a extremely strong connection. After finishing book 3 I couldn’t wait to see what would happen between these two men.
After they see each other when Tomi visits his family, they cannot deny there is something there. But is it worth taking a chance because neither man knows about the other.
When the connection is made they start to talk and learn about each other which leads to Tomi coming back to Jasper for the summer.
Both men stay in hiding, but when something unexpected happens with one of the younger town members things start to role in a different direction.
So in between both men trying to find out how to deal with being in the closet for so long and everything that is going on in town, they both try to find a way to make it through.
Windsor and Tomi have tremendous chemistry and their relationship is sweet, emotional and intimate. I loved that.
Concealed Hearts is not only about two closeted men coming together, it is also about self-exploration, about being daring, about believing, about opening up and taking a chance.
It was what I had hoped for, a wonderful ending to a great series. I really enjoyed visiting this town and it’s inhabitants. And with Windsor and Tomi getting their happy ending it has a wonderful conclusion.
One thing really needs to be mentioned! The youngsters made this final piece and without saying to much I would love to read how they are doing in their future somewhere.
Overall if you still haven’t picked up this series, you need really need to. Especially now that you can read all 4 stories back to back. It is definitely worth it!
