The U.S. Presidential Election less than a week away, COVID-19, Virtual School, Amy Coney Barrett, and everything else, this is a stressful time. I’ve been working hard to de-stress. (Hint: It’s not working so well – just sayin.) So rather than dwell on anything negative for this post, I’m going to give you eight positives that have happened in the last seven months.
- I get to spend time with my daughter – sure it’s not all rainbows and unicorn farts, but there are enough good times to make it awesome.
- I’m learning to play guitar. My 8-year-old needed a new hobby. We found a virtual tutor. I’m taking lessons with her. (She way better than me already)
- I’m teaching my daughter to play baseball. She wants to play next year (being optimist there will be a spring season) so I’m teaching her to catch and throw.
- I cleaned up a lot of clutter in the house.
- I’ve learned new technology. Zoom, WebEx, Teams, Google Meets – I was content with just Facetime. Now, I’m fluent in five platforms.
- I’m hardly driving at all. There’s been a drop in emissions across the country, and my I’m doing my part by not driving near as much as before.
- I’m cooking more – like lots more. It’s hard to cook dinner when you more often than not got home at 7:00 p.m. It’s a lot easier when you work at home.
- I haven’t had to wear a suit in almost eight months.
To be clear, none of this makes up for what’s happening. It doesn’t. But by focusing on the what I can control, I’m trying to make lemonade out of some really sour lemons.
Until next month, stay safe and healthy.

Andy Gallo:
Andy prefers mountains over the beach, coffee over tea, and regardless if you shake it or stir it, he isn’t drinking a martini. He remembers his “good old days” as filled with mullets, disco music, too-short shorts, and too-high socks. Thanks to good shredders and a lack of social media, there is no proof he ever descended into any of those evils.
Andy does not write about personal experiences and no living or deceased ex-boyfriends appear on the pages of his stories. He might subconsciously infuse his characters with some of their less noble qualities, but that is entirely coincidental even if their names are the same.
Married and living his own happy every after, Andy helps others find their happy endings in the pages of his stories. He and his husband of more than twenty years spend their days raising their daughter and rubbing elbows with other parents. Embracing his status as the gay dad, Andy sometimes has to remind others that one does want a hint of color even when chasing after their child.

I’ll add on I’ve been reading more ARC’s than ever before so my postings on BB, GR, and Amazon are way up!
Totally doesn’t make things all better, but focusing on the positive never hurts when tackling the not so good.
Glad you’re able to get more ARCs. 🙂
