The worst thing you can do to a friend is kiss him.
The second-worst thing is to run him over.
My crush on Judah Cooper is platonic. I promise. We’ve been friends since the first day he walked into my bookstore, and I am not letting myself fall for anyone again. So things are safe. Very safe. At least until Judah accidentally sends me to the ER. That complicates things a little.
Now I’m in a cast, and Judah feels so guilty, he offers to let me rest and recuperate at Superbia Springs, the old mansion he’s renovating. It should be a luxurious way to recuperate…but I don’t want anyone taking care of me. It reminds me too much of my control-freak ex. I need to be my own man. Self-reliant.
But how self-reliant can I be, when Judah starts bringing me breakfast in bed? When he picks me up and carries me down the stairs, and I can remember the feeling of his arms around me all day? If I dare to show him how I feel, will it break the friendship? Is that a risk I’m willing to take?
There’s bad news: My wealthy, manipulative ex comes back to town. He always knew how to get to me when I was down. When he makes me a surprising offer that sounds like everything I ever wanted, it has to be a trap.
I think he’s trying to pull us apart, right as I’m on the verge of something real with Judah. Now I have to decide exactly what Judah is to me…and decide if our love is worth the risk.
Accidentally Yours, a friends-to-lovers, hurt/comfort small-town romance, is the third standalone book of the Superbia Springs eries.
REVIEW:
I finally gotten around to reading this series. If you like a contemporary series with low angst set in a small town this is definitely your series.
Focussing on this third book I have to say it is the best of the three so far. You can see how the author and the characters grew over time
In this third book we get the story from Judah and Alex whom we both know from the former two books.
Being able to read their story is definitely a highlight. These two men are very wonderful, sweet men with so many insecurities and they find themselves with so many issues. It makes it hard to focus on what is happening in their lives.
That is also one of the part I was struggling with. There are so many issues that you kind of get desperate for them to snap out of it and to get going and the length of the book doesn’t make that easier.
My personal opinion is that the book could have benefitted from a good read through, making it more compact and clear and more accessible read.
That being said, as I mentioned before, this book is definitely the best out of the three and tells you a very complete and heart-tugging story.
You very much feel the struggle of both men on their own and you feel for their situations so kudo’s for the author for getting you invested as a reader.
One of the things I cheered about most was when finally Judah was able to express himself to his brother with the help of Mason, his brothers partner. It was something I had been hoping for during the whole reading of the first part of the book.
Bringing in the ex was no huge surprise but definitely made the story pick up speed and interaction. (I have to say I am so hoping for Bastian tbh)
Overall I can say as I mentioned before, if you like a good contemporary low angst story/series, you can definitely pick this one up and have a good number of hours working up to a very satisfying and happy ending.
