REVIEW:
Sixty Five Hours is one of my favourite N.R. Walker novels. It’s quirky, sweet and a lot of fun. It never fails to put a smile on my face. It’s a book that I keep coming back to over and over when I need to get in a better mood, to get me out of reading slumps or just in general want to have a good time. So obviously I just had to experience it in audio as well. And Nick J. Russo nailed it – pun fully intended.
Cam and Lucas are not quite enemies, but they are far from friendly, it makes office hours a bit tense at times. So when their boss pairs them together for a project of a life time, a project with a devil of a deadline: sixty-five hours. It’s sixty-five hours that changes both of their lives. I loved the project, the intensity, but also the rare quiet moments when they got to know each other. On the surface the two of them might be different, but they really work together, I love their banter and goofing around, but more than that I love how they build each other up.
Every time I dive into this book, I somehow manage to forget about the sex-fest our two guys engage in once the deadline has passed. For me it’s too much, but I know that many of you will gobble each moment up with a smile, because those scenes are not only plentiful, but the steam will rival any sauna.
I loved Nick J. Russo’s performance of this book. Right off the bat I fell for his southern Accent. I could see Lucas tipping his imaginary hat, charming everyone. Earlier I mentioned the intensity of their planning sessions. Russo made feel the pressure and tension of that clock, ticking down, building and building until that inevitable explosion. And what an explosion it was, the fireworks were spectacular.
All in all I was extremely happy listening to this story, and I know that it’s one I will listen to again, and again. Highly recommended.
