David wasn’t expecting his ex to be at his friend’s wedding—especially not as the groom.
Six months ago, David’s relationship disintegrated, but when a colleague invites him to his wedding at the newest gay-friendly island resort right off the coast of Florida, he sees his chance to put himself back out there. It turns out groom number two is none other than his ex-boyfriend. He needs cover, stat, and in saunters the hottest little room cleaner he ever did see.
While David needs a fake boyfriend, Fin needs a bailout.
After getting kicked out of his house as a teenager, Finley Sweet is finally back on his feet. He’s got a good job at Bliss Resort, but when a self-made millionaire offers him a mountain of cash to be his fake boyfriend for a week, Fin leaps at the chance to change everything and get his inheritance back from his evil stepfather.
What starts as a business transaction becomes so much more, but there’s a time limit to their love, and the contract runs out when David goes back to the mainland. Only it’s more than a contract holding them together, and everything they want is right there if they can read between the lines.
REVIEW:
My first impression after reading this story is that I really liked it. I liked it even better even than book 1 which I thought was very good. But there is something about David and Finley that grabs hold of you and pulls you in.
Their chemistry is incredible but even more their kindness, their sweetness and their honesty is what I loved most.
Author Harley Grace did an amazing job with the second book in this Boys of Bliss series, set in the same resort as the first book with a totally different and refreshing new angle.
I have to say as a series lover I really liked to see a few snippets from the characters out of the first book but this book is definitely a standalone.
The focus is definitely on David and Fin. David comes to the island to attend the wedding of his colleague Eric and as the blurb says he finds out Eric is marrying his own ex-lover. He brings in Finley to play the fake boyfriend, but how long can we speak about fake?
Like I said the instant chemistry and attraction is delightful. The interaction between David and Finley is entertaining and really enjoyable.
Finley is so kind that there is no way you can even try to dislike him and how he treats Eric when he needs a comfort is adorable and kind. (Please let there be an happy end for Eric in one of the upcoming stories! )
Where you might think it is a little bit too much, I can tell you it just isn’t. There is not a moment that as a reader I felt it was too much or insincere.
And David is down to earth, a self-made millionaire with a good and kind heart. He has pure intentions and is available for his friends and family.
The only note I have is about the title. The Cinderella reference is a bit to far reaching for my feeling. It might give you a wrong impression about the content of the story, which would be a shame for sure!
The writing is solid, flowing nicely and keeping you interested and invested the whole time. Great job!
If you are searching for a low-angst, sweet, sexy and romantic story, I definitely recommend you to pick this one up.
I for one, cannot wait to see what else the author has in store with the characters from Bliss island!
