REVIEW:
Well, for the last book of these series, it’s been one heck of an interesting journey. And it will be a little sad to see them all go. But it’s been a good set of series, and one I think you all will enjoy. This book has some angst in it. But it’s definitely the happy ending of the stories.
If you have been keeping up, book 2 was a lot of trouble. David being jailed and awaiting trial. He got bailed out but the one bailing him out was a surprise. Jax was part of an undercover ring where he can’t get over the things he saw and the things he had to do to save some omegas. River and Josiah were at odds and still kind of are throughout the book. Sid came back but is miserable. And the betas and omegas affected by the darts are nervous as can be about the antidote because they are afraid the man making them will trick them. Seeing as he’s the one who caused the trouble to start with. But in this one, we see brave omegas scared, but willing to do what is needed in order to be healthy and happy in their relationships and for themselves. We see justice finally being served and correctly. Even though hatred reigns supreme right now. We are seeing happiness back in some faces, but misery in others. And part in due to a rogue alpha starting a pack he has no business starting. He’s not leader material. And he’s got rogue shifters that are evil. And they are causing so many problems, it’s distressing everyone. And when some of the omegas are hurt and kidnapped, River has had enough. It’s time to stop this mess and put an end to the reign of fear this punk wants to bring about. But will it be an end to the rogues, but an end to River and the others because they are outnumbered.
As I’ve said all along, I’ve loved seeing the different opinions of everyone in the pack. How they feel, their doubt and fears, their strengths and weaknesses, and the courage and bravery as they are stepping forward into new roles and places in the pack. I love seeing the ones who felt they had no place at all in a pack, finding home among the others. It’s sweet and beautiful, to see these shifters finally finding peace. It’s been a long time coming. It’s been a long time coming seeing some old faces coming back to where they belong, and others finally moving on the way they need to be. It doesn’t mean things were easy. The rogue pack caused a lot of problems and one particular shifter feels it’s his fault, even though it isn’t. And that’s something he will have to learn to deal with and let go of. It’s also good to see the poly relationships finally settling into the way they were meant to be. It doesn’t mean bad things that stuff gets shifter around in the bedroom. It just means they are different.
It’s been a hard rad for this pack. The ups and downs, the doubts, the fears, the fights, the uncertainty. But through it all, even at the worst times, they tried to keep each other’s backs. They tried to remain a pack. Yes, maybe a broken one at times, but through persistence and patience, and a lot of work, they’ve come out better than they could have imagined.
