REVIEW:
This is the start of a great series, I can tell. And with the way it ended, I’m hoping I know who’s story is next. This is a fun series, with shifters and psychics and such, but it’s also one filled with trouble and greedy people who will stop at nothing to hurt shifters and the like. It’s a mystery of who is doing it to a point, and how high this goes.
Liam was hoping after he had finally put out a restraining order on his ex that that was going to be the end of it. Unfortunately, it was not. Thanks to a friend of Liam’s, he got out of his apartment in time as a hitman was coming in to capture and eventually kill him. But now Liam is on the run to a place he knows nothing about, but that his old professor has offered him a position for a librarian in case he needed it or wanted to move. Thankfully he had that, he took off to there. He just wanted to start over, get away from trouble and lead a new life. Maybe one with shifters he can trust. What he didn’t expect was on the night he was almost there, was to meet his fated mate as the man helped him tow his car, when it messed up. Russ was shocked himself, as he basically vowed there would be no other after losing his husband. But he can’t get Liam out of his head. And his wolf is going nuts over wanting this man. But there is trouble in Fox Hollow. When shifters/hikers come up missing, arsons start everywhere, they don’t know where to look or how to figure this out. Until Liam puts it together. And now he and Russ may not even have a chance to start what they feel before it’s over.
I loved Liam from the moment I met him. There’s just something about him. And then add Russ, Drew, Rich….the characters in this book are amazing. It’s a great little town to want to be a part of, where you want to settle down and raise a family or have a relaxing life. But part of Liam feels horrible and I felt bad for him. It wasn’t his fault his ex is a psycho. But he’s a part of a community now that stands behind their friends and family, and they aren’t going to put up with the trouble going on. They love Liam as well and love what he has brought to Fox Hollow as far as ideas and so much more. He’s a sweet, sometimes shy, passionate person. And he brought life to a man who never thought he’d have another chance again. One who didn’t want one to be honest. It’s a sweet story.
But it’s more than that. With all the trouble going on, it’s not only a mystery of who it is, even though Liam figured out part of it, it’s also a mystery as to how it’s all connected and how far up it goes. There’s some major shadiness going on behind the scenes and some don’t quite know who to trust. They just know they feel something isn’t right.
It’s a great start to this series. And I can’t wait for more.
