The epic tenth installment of the BOYSTOWN series is like no other that has come before it. Two timelines in one book, BOYSTOWN Season Ten not only propels the thrilling action forward, but also reveals the events of the twenty-five year jump that occurred at the end of Season Nine.
At the wedding of the year, the parents of Hope Ciancio and Joseph Mancini prepare to watch their children get married unaware that an uninvited guest will forever change the course of their lives. A sexy cowboy arrives to claim what belongs to him, unaware of his own ties to the Ciancio and Mancini families. His presence quickly sparks a fire that reignites the Ciancio-Mancini feud.
In the meantime, Cole and Victor DelVecchio’s marriage is put to the test not only when Derek Mancini returns to Chicago very much alive, but also when a hot young model unleashes a twisted plan to get Cole for himself. As Emmett Mancini and Keith Colgan expand their own empire, one of their restaurants becomes the scene of a shocking death that devastates their circle of friends. And an international scheme puts many of Boystown’s residents in danger.
It all leads up to a birthday celebration that leaves many of its guests on the brink of life and death.
REVIEW:
Ohhh, child! This book is 509 pages of nothing but pure shenanigans! Let’s get into it.
*Cues the soap opera music*
“And in this episode of ‘The Young and Messy’….”
Well, not so young anymore but STILL messy. So, it’s twenty-five years later and the people in this jacked up group of ‘friends’ and ‘family’ are still crazy and shady. Old couples that have split up have found their way back to each other and new couples have formed. But not from outside their groups. No, of course not. These group of maniacs keep forming relationships and marrying with in the same circles. The way these wing nuts keep at it, you’d thinkChicago has no other people outside the Ciancio and Mancini clans.
The shenanigans starts…or rather, continues, only this time, the adult children of the original ‘Shady Eight’are at the helm. And these children are proving to be just as shady and trashy as their parents.
The pack of wild dogs came and took out one of the characters that at one time I detested. It would’ve gleefully welcomed it but now it left me a lot shocked and surprisingly sad. It was twenty-five years years too late! And JUST as I was beginning to kinda like him too! Oh well…
A round of applause for Joyelle managing to stay married to the same guy for over two decades without falling in love with, not get knocked up or pop out any other babies from anyone else. Her son Christopher is a good egg whereas her daughter Hope, is pure trash. And seeing as she was raised by the goody- two-shoes-faint-like-a-Victorian-damsel-at-the-drop-of-a-dime, accident prone Joyelle and all around good guy Jack Kramer means thatHope was trash in the womb. And how is that even possible? Let’s just say she’s definitely her father’s (Marco Ciancio) daughter.
Jesse is…never mind he’s been through a lot so I’m gonna give him a bit of a pass. For now.
Logan, I still love him to pieces. I just wish he would follow through with the plan he and Max had before things tragically changed for him. This group of jackals are a threat to his sanity and sobriety.
Still love Keith. Wish he didn’t find his way back to he who I detested and must not be named. Speaking of which…
I’m summoning the spirit of the pack of wild canines to come and take out Emmett. He still gets on my last nerve. Twenty five years hasn’t changed that.
And while we’re on this wild canines taking out people, I have a list. The dogs should take out:
-Hope.
-Cody-but only to bite him on his butt and possibly his ankle. We don’t want him taken out, just a warning to tighten up!
-Neil-I hate him SOOO much although Jack May get to him first. *Fingers crossed*
-He who has risen from dead. And speaking of which, I wish Michael Martinez would’ve been resurrected instead. I do miss him so; he was my favorite character. But yeah, the dogs can come for this idiot.
-Jasper.
-Jensen because seriously!? What he did and who he did it with? Just low down, scandalous and a just a touch…nasty.
I’m gonna stop there for now. I may update the list on the next season.
As usual the storylines are a salacious, scandalous, shady, hot twisted mess. And it’s absolutely DELICIOUS! The shenanigans, shade, dishonesties, cheating, sexcapades and pure EVIL that goes on with these people is so bloody AMAZING that you won’t be able to stop reading until you get to the end. As usual, this book ends with a couple cliffhangers because the author is evil like that.
*Soap opera music begins*
“Tune in next time for another episode of ‘The Young and the Messy’”….
