When I last visited Love Bytes, I spoke about the impact of being forced to stay at home and how my daily writing life had changed. I spoke about the impact on my productivity due to a house full of people, and how my mental state (worrying about the world) had weakened my motivation. Unfortunately, not a lot has changed over recent months and the world is still a very different place to how it was at the beginning of the year. But I’m slowly adapting to my new normal.
I decided to get off my butt and kick some goals by putting some good time management and organisational techniques into practice. I won’t bore you with I the details (hit me up if you really want to know) but being organised and visualising my achievements always makes me more productive. The result is I’m feeling more energised and inspired, and most importantly, actually producing new words!
So what am I working on?
I’ve just sent a manuscript to my editor. It’s for a rock star romance called Wild Card. I can’t tell you more or share the cover, because it’s all still hush-hush, but keep an eye out for some announcements about the Road to Rocktoberfest multi-author series that will be available for pre-order from 9th September.
When the opportunity to participate in the rock star series arose, I had to reprioritise my other works in progress. This means that Accidently In Love is on hold and will remain so for a little while longer while I focus on finishing my Christmas stories. There’s something so special about writing holiday-themed stories and I’m feeling the holiday cheer already.
Always Been You was released in July 2020. It’s a friends to lovers romance and I hope you enjoy it.
What if you fell in love with your best friend?
Ben Cooper has spent his life trying to make others happy and sacrificing his own dreams. When one fateful night with his best friend gives him a glimpse of what the future could be, he needs to find the courage to follow his heart.
One night gives Spencer Henderson a tantalising taste of the man he loves. But he doesn’t fit into Ben’s future plans—Spence is a complication. Running may be the only option to protect his heart.
With trouble escalating at home and Spence out of reach, Ben’s life will finally spiral out of control.
Always Been You is a standalone M/M romance between best friends who fear taking the next step in their relationship and need to find the courage to risk it all for their HEA. It features an emotional hurt/comfort theme.
