REVIEW:
Curious. That was my mood when I picked up this book by a new author duo. The premises appealed to me so I was excited to dig in.
What I can say for sure is that I absolutely didn’t regret doing that.
This is a wonderful insta love, low angst, romantic and sweet story.
I am impressed by the writing and the storytelling in this debut novel.
You cannot help feeling sympathetic toward Andrew when he runs to Bliss after what happened to him. And Cord is just trying to find his footing after everything that happened.
Both men are kind of adorable and that seems to be the main thing throughout this story. Sweetness, kindness, adorkableness (I know that isn’t really a word but it fits 😉 )
The critique I would have comes from that I guess. The instant connection is there right away and goes to more pretty fast being all lovey dovey and sweet, which is written out nicely and sweet, but it is a lot.
The story could have used a bit more spice, and not in a sexual way, because trust me, that is very well covered.
What I really liked was the side interactions with the boss man, Adrien, what is his story…. and with the neighbour, Tracy. I would really like to read his book too.
The small part near the ending with Cord’s former band made me feel warm inside and sure made the story feel more complete, including the interactions with Ian (Andrew) and Jace (Cord). Little site note – can we read Jace’s story somewhere? I was intrigued by the interaction with Cord and the lines he wrote.:)
Obviously there is way more to “Bliss” and the “boys,” thankfully, and I cannot wait to see what the authors come up with. I am happy to see the next book is already on pre order.
