Let me get one thing straight.
I am not in love with my best friend.
My heart isn’t broken, and there is no he who’s going to swoop in and magically make it all better. Whatever that crazy psychic says, it’s not true!
I’m Knox MacKenzie, and I’m straight as an arrow. I like girls—even though they don’t always like me back.
If my heart beats a little faster and my tummy gets a bit wobbly when the local bartender sets his fascinating eyes on me, it’s no one’s business but my own.
Lucky
Unrequited love might suck, but it brought the loneliest man in small-town Jasper to my brewery. Knox has no idea how transparent he is—even when the batty old psychic tells him the truth to his face.
But Knox is convinced he’s straight.
He’s convinced she’s confused.
Well, I’m convinced those looks we share mean more.
What Knox needs is a friend to help him forget his broken heart and figure out who he truly is.
A low-angst, bisexual awakening, MM romance novel.
REVIEW:
I absolutely love this series from Nicki James. It is so different and refreshing and new and wonderful lol
In this release we have Knox, best friend of Easton, the main character in the first book. And you have to just realize there is nothing you can’t love about Knox. He is sweet, kind, shy and so freaking insecure and confused.
Knox is struggling with his emotions after his best friend finds his HEA and leaves him with so many feelings and emotions to deal with.
Enter Lucky, a kind attentive, very observing man who sees the struggle Knox is dealing with. Being a traveler, he isn’t used to staying in one place very long but in Hometown Jasper, he seems to have found some peace and a sense of belonging.
What follows is a slow building love story. It follows the struggles and emotions of both men, but most of all kindness and determination. They find strength and courage. Even a sense of self-realization I would say.
It is pretty clear I am very impressed with this story, with how the author brought these men to life and I can even say I would have liked to have seen a bit more.
Because of the slow pace, it takes a while to built the story and so I feel like it could have continued a bit longer.
I hope as this is a continuous series we will see some more of Knox and Lucky in the next story/stories.
Thanks to the author for adding pieces and parts of Easton and Lachlan to this story also. For me that is always a bonus as I love to read how the characters evolve during a series.
I even wouldn’t have minded a bit more East and Knox scenes as quite a bit centres about them and especially Knox his view on that.
Extra mention should go to how Miss James built this series around this town. I love the familiarity, the feeling of home and the the festivals etc.
I am already excited to read the next book in this series!
