Allesandro
I’m Il Padrone, the Master of this Family, and Emilio will learn his place. I’ll bathe in his tears and watch as he humiliates himself. It’s all for my pleasure. I own it all and he’s just another addition to my collection.
Emilio
Il Padrone calls me his toy. His property. He says I can earn the right to be higher in his organization if only I submit. If only I change who I am. I may be younger, but he hasn’t seen the likes of me before.
Just how twisted can a tale of vengeance become?
Trigger Warnings: This is a dark MM Mafia with graphic violence and extreme sexual situations.
Book 1 of the Vendetta Series, ends on a cliffhanger
Book 2 releasing September 2020!
REVIEW:
Given the current climate surrounding human trafficking, I will not romanticize this story in any way. Emilio is trafficked/sold to Allesandro by his older brother to get said brother out of trouble. He is an innocent victim who had, we learn, misplaced affection for that brother. He holds on to that until the end, unfortunately.
Allesandro, and his number 1 guy, are both pretty high on the evil scale. They lead a branch of mafia that rules the city, and don’t seem to have an actual caring bone in their bodies. Allesandro is the Il Padron or Master of everyone. All of his trusted (to a point) men have gone through similar training to achieve the status of one of his boys.
Similar to what is happening to Emilio, although I don’t see Emilio rising in the ranks like the others.
Allesandro’s relationships, if you can call them that, with his men, and especially his number 1, are more master/sub than you’d expect. Interestingly, he and his number 1, have more of a give and take than an I’ll take and you’ll give approach.
But, the main focus here is on Emilio, on breaking him, and getting him to boy status which comes with more luxuries and less restrictions. My heart broke for him as he was forced to play along and give in, but I am hopeful he won’t lose sight of his plan to eventually take Allesandro and crew down. He was a sweet soul with a bright and intelligent mind. I was sad to see his innocence stripped away, but was turning pages to see how it all played out.
I finished this in one sitting and was on the edge of my seat. This is a new author for me, and I’m excited to see the rest of this play out and look forward to many more stories from her in the future.
