BLURB:
The Three Faced God should have chosen my Fate, should have molded me according to the needs of my fellow Malthusians, but some assume they are above even God. I should have been at least a beta, hopefully an alpha, but never this.
They thought changing my body would change my soul, that I’d be a compliant omega while they used and experimented on me. Others die, others submit, and say its their Fate. I know different. A malthusian caused this, one of my own kind. They think they’ve won, but I’ll win, simply by living another second, another day. But can I survive alone?
REVIEW:
I’ve got to warn you before you start reading this, it has a lot of triggers. Alphas and crooked doctors assigning people as omegas, to be sold into slavery. They are raped often, tortured, beaten almost to death, their babies killed and so much more. So please be careful.
This was a hard one even for me. I love a/b/o books. But this one broke my heart bad. It’s the alpha syndrome all over again. Alphas can do whatever they want to whoever they want and who cares about the consequences. Omegas are lower than dirt most often. Only good enough to be breeders. But something new has started. There is a drug out now that are turning those who should manifest as alphas, into omegas. Even those manifesting as betas are turned into omegas and what they do to them after they manifest as omegas is horrific. They are bought and sold into an omega ring that is beyond horrible. Shoved in cages, buckets for potties. Raped and so much more. Mir fought for all he was worth for 10 years. 10 years he found out he was in that place, until he escaped and found refuge with Tav. A beta at heart who manifested alpha after an ordeal at the hospital. But Tav was determined to remain beta, until he found out he may need to stay alpha to protect the one person who has come to mean so much to him. Even just as friends, loneliness wasn’t there anymore and he had someone who he could rely on. But with people looking for Mir, how long will they remain safe?
Watching Tav and Mir both grow up is heartbreaking at the things they’ve had to endure and put up with because of their alpha fathers. It didn’t matter that one was rich or one was poor. All that mattered was both parents were truly not great men. And after what was happening to both of these men, it’s obvious how little they thought of their children. And it killed me. Tav became a well renowned dr in the movement for omegas. Mir was a wonder at working on the farm and taking care of his little brothers. But both had one incident that caused everything to change for them and their worlds turned upside down. I can understand them wanting to cling to each other, eventually. They were all each other had. They have been through so much and are continuing to go through even more. And it’s not over. It’s far from over. And I have to admit, I’m a bit scared for both of them, even knowing what Tav now knows about Mir’s brothers. But for Tav, it’s actions he needs to see and I don’t blame him. After learning what little he has from Mir, I wouldn’t be too trusting either. But I’m hoping in the books to come, they find peace and happiness. I have a feeling it’s going to be a rough road, but hopefully it will turn out well in the end.
